Danni could count on one hand the number of carnivals she had been to in her life, and the vast majority of those times had been torture. Still, it was undeniably true that she and Haeun hadn’t actually gone on many real dates. And she was never good at saying no to her girlfriend. Not that she wanted to. Danni would, in fact, do practically anything if it involved spending time with Haeun. It scared the life out of her, but she had resolved to decidedly avoid thinking of the implications of that.
The sun was bright in the sky outside, and Danni twisted the thick silver ring on her index finger absently as she waited. “The place is going to be closed by the time you’re ready, you know.” She called into the other room, leaning against the wall lazily. She picked a thread off the bottom of her denim shorts with two fingers and watched it drift to the floor. “What are you even doing that is taking so long?”
This was never supposed to happen. Danni had been so careful, meticulous to a point so that she would never find out. She was just in the wrong place at the wrong time, and unfortunately Danni had been in a really bad mood. When she got really angry her control was a lot harder to keep a handle on, and she was known for snapping once in a while and lashing out at whoever was closest. And unfortunately for Baozhai, that was her. Usually Danni’s girlfriend had a strange ability to calm everything inside of her, an ability that frightened her sometimes. But Danni’s boss had the exact opposite ability, and she was careful to never let the two feelings coincide.
That day was a general mess of unfortunate circumstances, the first of which being that she had not fed on any douchebags at the club for several days. Her boss had been keeping a close eye on her and she found it infuriating. She was still reeling when she met up with Baozhai after leaving her work, and everything just rapidly went downhill. She leaned in to kiss her, and everything stopped for a second. Before Danni even knew what she was doing, her fangs had emerged and she was biting into the other girl’s neck. It lasted only a few seconds before Danni pulled away roughly, both surprised and ashamed at herself beyond words.
Did she knew this girl from somewhere? The possibility was endless and even if in the end she came out blank. Yuri, however swore she had seen this girl before. The only question dancing around her mind was, where? ❝ Have you been to the police station lately? ❞ Curiosity rang clearly in her mind as the familiar bubble of uncertainty boiled in her stomach. She was positive she looked familiar to her. ❝ Sorry, it’s just you really look familiar to me and i’m trying to pin it down on where i’ve seen you. ❞
“I try to stay away from police stations, as a general rule.” Danni said, shrugging her shoulders lightly. She personally couldn’t remember the other girl, but when you worked at a strip club, hardly anyone was that memorable. Though the idea that someone who spent a lot of time at the police station recognized her was a little unsettling. “Unless you like to hang out at strip clubs, I don’t think we go to the same places very often.”

Danni’s eyebrows furrowed slightly before a mask of indifference took over her features. She’d had plenty of practice at that. She didn’t like being lied to, and was very wary. This could be nothing, she reminded herself. Not everyone was a bad person, after all. And this was Hyorin; she knew Hyorin. “About what?” She asked, a little tentatively.

“Misery is hard to ignore.” Daniela said, shrugging slightly. She wasn’t in the mood for any type of pity party, not today. But still, her mood was downright sour, had been since the moment she had awoken that morning. It was the kind of day she wanted to lock herself in her apartment and stay there until she felt better, felt normal. But of course Danni didn’t get that luxury.
‘Crap.’ Sue cursed under her breath after realizing that she had stuttered. With a deep intake of the crisp air, the girl attempted to swallow her nervousness down.
After stuffing her hands into the pockets of her hoodie, the girl cleared her throat and raised her gaze towards Daniela. “So, what do I have to do?”
“Right.” Danni rolled her eyes. She didn’t have time to be visiting a police station today, and she really didn’t have time to deal with potential scaredy-cats. All the same, she couldn’t exactly do this alone. “Just... Don’t be suspicious, just in case.”
She led the girl through the alley at the back the club where she worked, moving quickly and gracefully. “You need to be my lookout, and help me fuck with this guy.” The back door of the club was padlocked, as it was closed that night. Daniela hooked her fingers through it and pulled, the metal giving away in her hand.
