just finished watching a playthrough of Married in red by studio investigrave/racheldrawsthis
i did originally watch gameplays of dead plate and cold front & a friend was talking about more of the sig games so I decided to watch full gameplay of MIR.
BIG spoilers under cut. yes I will be talking more about it under the cut. yeah. PLEASE go play (or watch gameplays) the game itself!
this isn't a full analysis btw. just my raw thoughts.

Bok su has no friends in uni, untill she met Da-jeong. The two where studying to become doctors. being a alone little loser, Bok su didn't (and doesn't) have any friends, Da-jeong comes along and trusts Bok su, taking her wherever she goes. Bok su feels so happy that she isn't fully alone, actually being friends with Da-jeong has opened up so many views for Bok su herself. Da-jeong taught that life wasn't all about achievements or grades or being useful all the time, that you CAN enjoy your life and the small moments without it all being a bout work. So, that is why Bok-su feels so betrayed.
See, Da-jeong & Bok su where preforming a surgery, when Da-jeong messed up she asked Bok su for help, since she wasn't (isn't) as skilled asked Bok su. Unfortunalty, they weren't able to save the patient. The doctors and (a) parent come in, seeing the death of the patient, the viewers of the scene where distressed and angry.
Now, Da-jeong immediately blamed Bok su. For no reason. Bok su was cut out of the program and put on a blacklist for the blame.
she never got an apology from Da-jeong. She never got one, not even one acknowledgement from Da-jeong that Da-jeong knew that she messed up Bok su's life.
Later on, Bok su is invited to the wedding by Da-jeong's soon to be wed husband.
she ends up killing said husband later, with a plan shes planned for years. she stabs him in the neck, with a wedding knife. right exactly where Da-jeong stabbed the patient.
she truly believes that, everything that bad that will happen to Da-jeong, is infact Da-jeong fault. It is her karma, her atonement.
she deserves this, this is Bok su's revenge, its her rightful place to punish the person she cherished most. The person that ruined her life.
I am not going into full depth of every event possible. please just go play the game for yourself. but to summarize the setting up of the event...
after cleaning up the body and burning away her bloody clothes, she goes to the kitchen and listens to the gossip from the groomsmen through the walls.
The groomsmen are talking about some people. speificly about two people at a new years party.
Bok su spreads a rumor with the bridesmaids that Myeong-hoon (Da-jeong's dead soon-to-be husband) is (was) having an affair with some other lady. The bridemaids are pissed.
Bok su then talks to the (dead) groom's family, speificly his mother, talking about how Da-jeong is so passionate for love and passionate for Myeong-hoon.
Bok su has a little private chat with her dear old "friend" Da-jeong. Da-jeong gets defensive about how Bok su is only here to ruin Da-jeong's wedding day. Bok su is still angry, still so angry that her dearest friend ruined her for life, she gets MAD. Da-jeong, however just stands there being shocked and defensive... yet still doesn't give Bok su her apology.
Bok su at the time of the murder was wearing gloves, she put the knife she killed the groom with in her pocket. Bok su tells Da-jeong to grab the knife out of her pocket so now it will have Da-jeong's fingerprints all over it.
Da-jeong gets so defensive that she tries killing Bok su, unfortunalty for Da-jeong she gets descovered with Myeong-hoon's (the dead groom) dead body covered in blood as the body falls out of the closet Bok su put Myeong-hoon's dead body in. Bok su immediately blamed Da-jeong Infront of everyone seeing the murder Da-jeong "has committed", Da-jeong is accused of murder and why wouldnt she? the gossip adds up, she could've known about the affair with the man she was so passionate for, and she has blood all over her wedding dress.
Da-jeong runs outside the stage (or whatever its called, that thing you get married on), looking in such distress. Bok su looks on staring at Da-jeong.
finally, Da-jeong has finally, maybe, atoned.
PLEASE PLAY IT OMG. I'm very fascinated/obbsessed with Bok su and her character. Well exucuted themes of revenge and betrayal in my opinion.

the phrase married in red is part of an old superstitious rhyme about wedding dress colors.
specifically, the line "married in red, you'll wish yourself dead."
what's this line mean?? well, according to sources, it's because if you wear red for your wedding the husband will die first, therefore prompting the bride to wish she were dead so she could be with him.
and we all know about poor Myeong-hoon's fate at Bok-su's hands, and how that panned out for the blushing bride.
