Deviantart is celebrating its 20th anniversary and was hosting a Draw This In Your Style challenge- I haven’t painted anything in a while so it was a welcome activity for an afternoon! the colors also definitely tempted me into it haha

This was originally for DeviantArt’s 20th Birthday last year. And in my defense, I started working on it & had it finished much closer to the proper day, but I was already late posting it and got stalled on writing the description. 😅

My take on @loish ’s Create-This-In-Your-Style challenge organised for deviantART's 20th Birthday! Only really had time for a quickie, not really my best work, and I didn't really have any particularly creative ideas on how to make it totally my own, but I also didn't want the event to slip by without showing some form of appreciation for the place, so I thought I'd give it at least the basic redraw treatment.

I still feel a great sense of gratitude towards deviantART for re-kickstarting my interest in drawing when I was a teenager after almost letting the activity fall to the wayside as a random way to kill time. Popular social media is absolute crap for artists, and of the various gallery-based sites out there, it remains my favourite overall. Heck, deviantART has remained the homepage on my browser on my PC for well over a decade now, I don't think I'll ever shake the feeling of it being my comfortable “home base” on the internet.
