Promises of the Past [Yandere! Dabi x Sakura Haruno]
Synopsis: In which, Sakura Haruno is pulled into an unusual portal that removes her from everything she knows, and deposits her in an entire new world brimming with advanced technology and quirks.
Accustomed to her ninja ways, everything about this new world is strange, confusing, and unknown to her. Fortunately for her, the first man she encounters seems to know her really well. It's too bad that he seems to hold a grudge against her though, especially when she pretends to not know him at all.

Sakura's heart pounded against her chest, and her breathing pace picked up as she maneuvered between Sasori's attacks that were intended to kill her. Their fight started a while ago, and from her vigorous training over the last three years with Tsunade, she had developed the strength, vitality, and endurance she needed to be able to win against S-level ranked shinobi. Although she would usually still remain at her peak in relation to her energy levels and what she could endure at this point in a fight against other opponents, presently, her stamina and health was diminishing, and her chakra reserves were suffering, due to the poison Sasori had managed to cut into her skin with one of his blades earlier.
Desperate to flee or cease the fight, Sakura somersaulted from another round of weapons assault that Sasori had launched, expertly pushing the exact amount of chakra she needed to her legs to enhance her speed. Then, once enough distance was created, she clenched her fist tightly and covered it with her chakra. Already knowing what she was planning, Sasori growled, and from within his puppet armour Hiruko, he started to weave hand signs to launch his ninjutsu.
"I won't let you do that again leaf kunoichi. It's the end for you," He growled, and as he signed the last hand sign, black eerie energies of chakra started to leak through the gaps of his Hiruko armour. Simultaneously, Sakura pulled her arm back.
"Don't underestimate me!" She barked back, and then with force built up in her muscles, she punched hard. The ground of the cave they were battling in shattered, and the impact of her punch carried over to the cave walls, creating cracks, before they also broke into rubble. Sasori lost his footing from the mini earthquake she had created, but nonetheless, directed the black energies of chakra towards Sakura.
Sakura jumped over the crumbling ground rocks and successfully evaded the first few energies of chakra that flew towards her. However, the poison's impact on her body was worsening, and her breathing was starting to become more shallow, black spots were spotting her vision, and she was slowing down. Sasori noticed this, and immediately unveiled two scrolls that he was going to use to trap her so she could not evade his ninjutsu anymore. Unbeknownst to both ninja fighting, that the surface level cave walls and ground around the had crumbled apart to unveil embedded seals engraved in the inner walls. As Sasori's scrolls opened to reveal what was written on them, the seals on the walls started to glow. Then, abruptly, Sasori's ninjutsu became erratic and instead of beams of chakra energy, they flew and accumulated together to form a vortex; even the caster of the jutsu became perplexed.
"What the hell is happening!" He hissed, and Sakura landed on an unbroken part of the wall, and balanced herself on it on an angle by coating the soles of her feet with chakra. She watched as the Sasori became engulfed in the vortex of his own jutsu, and a part of her began to feel relief; however, immediately, just before she could react, the chakra from Sasori's ninjutsu embedded itself in the glowing seals dimming their light, and in a moment, it was coating all the seals in the walls. Then, before she could respond, a giant black hole opened up behind her and its strong gravitational pull instantly pulled her in, not giving her any time to register what had happened.

The sharpness of grass blades and dirt clumps rubbed unpleasantly against her skin, and the hot sun rays burned her. Undeniably, Konohagakure climate was hot, but the heat was not like burning sensation she was currently experiencing. Something in the air felt horribly wrong and dead to Sakura's honed kunoichi instincts, and she woke up startled. Her pupils were dilated, her mouth extremely dehydrated - her tongue felt too heavy and there was an unpleasant taste akin to cough medicine lingering. Sakura winced at the sudden invasion of sunlight, and in fear, she whipped around to observe her surroundings. Everything felt very wrong, and her survival instincts were screaming at her as if she an anomaly; she saw birds, trees, and other small alive animals like squirrels. However, she felt no chakra, which felt like an abomination because every thing alive, no matter how small, had chakra. It didn't make any sense to her. Then, right away, bile rose up her esophagus, and gagging, Sakura threw up blood on the grass next to her.
Her head was pounding, and she felt familiar black spots in her vision; pondering on the cause of it, Sakura recalled she was battling Sasori, and he had poisoned her. Evidently, she was delirious from the poison and that's why she felt no chakra around her.
"I can be so dumb," Sakura murmured to herself, and then immediately, sensing that no one was around her, she unzipped her sleeveless pink top, and shrugged it off her left arm to have easier access to the left side of her body. Looking down on her now bare and exposed skin, she saw the big gash where the kunai had cut her, and her skin was welted and very red from the poison. She started to mentally evaluate what this meant, and how much the poison had affected her. Becoming focused on this task, Sakura failed to notice the dangerous pair of bright and sharp cerulean eyes watching her intently.
Sakura weaved a few hand signs and this resulted in her a big bubble of water to coat one of her hands. She bit her lip to prepare herself to remain silent for her upcoming pain, before she clenched her abdomen muscles tightly, and shoved the bubble of water in herself through her skin. The invasion felt foreign, and her body jerked in response to perceiving it was being attacked - but, Sakura held herself still as she moved the bubble along her entire abdomen, and then, she guided it out of her body. The clear bubble was now a murky purple due to the poison she had removed herself, and carelessly, Sakura released the now bubble of poison on the grass beside. Her hands now glowed green and were coated with warm chakra, and she healed her remaining injury with her medical ninjutsu, before closing off her wound, and it looked almost as good as new, with some reddening remaining.
Sakura breathed a big sigh of relief. However, that relief didn't last for long because there was sound of loud and slow clapping, that was definitely condescending, behind her, and her shoulders tensed. Immediately, Sakura whipped behind her to see a black-haired male with spikey hair, wearing a black trench coat, sharp blue eyes, and what appeared to be burnt skin held together with piercings, standing tall behind her.
Her stomach twisted in knots because she had not sensed him, and she could not sense any chakra from him, when he was evidently a living and breathing human being.
Dabi cocked his head to the side, and grinned maniacally at her, as he walked closer to her, and continued to clap.
"What a show, that you can finally heal, huh, Sakura? But not when I needed you the most," He spat, and there was a indescribable look of both relief and promised danger glinting in his eyes. Then, once he was just a few metres away from her, Dabi stared down at her hunched and seated form. His eyes were focused on her upper body, and his grin widened. "Not the only show for me to enjoy," he remarked.
Caught up in her distraught and confusion of not still not sensing any chakra, and then, the strange sense of familiarity that the stranger was regarding her with when she had never met him, was all too confusing for Sakura. Her brain was not processing information as fast it usually did, and so instead of picking up on danger and responding to it like she would usually done, she dumbly follow Dabi's line of sight. She looked down, and finally understood that her shirt was still unzipped, revealing her bra and cleavage underneath. Her cheeks reddened in embarrassment; however, before she could take wear her shirt and zip it back up again, Dabi was on her. Gripping her wrists in his hands with great force, he had no reservations in brutally pushing her down and making her head hit the ground roughly, and then sitting on her. Dabi locked his legs with Sakura's, and carelessly released all of his weight on her by laying on top of her fully - his chest pressing against hers. He leaned over her face until his nose brushed against hers and they felt each other's breaths while breathing; his giant frame encapsulating her much smaller one.
Sakura winced from the impact on her head from being pushed down, and this worsened the pounding she was experiencing in her head. But, used to the pain and discomfort from being a ninja, it wasn't too difficult for her to ignore her pain, and glare ferociously at Dabi. She bucked her hips against his to try push him off her. With her current diminished strength and still recoiling from her fight with Sasori, she wasn't too successful. But the fact that she was able to get Dabi to move even a little with his strength still in play, made her own level of power clear. Dabi growled, and in warning, his hands became hotter.
"Don't test me Sakura, I'm not scared of hurting you," Dabi whispered softly, and then increased temperature of his hold slightly, to reinforce his threat. Sakura had no clue what was happening, and why, but she deducted she would get burnt with how his grip had felt hotter if she didn't listen to him. Still, she wasn't someone who went down without a fight.
"I'm not scared of being hurt! Get off me! I don't even know who you are!" She hissed. In response, Dabi's eyes widened frantically in surprise, before his lips pressed into a thin line, and his face became stoic. Shifting his grip so he was only holding her wrists down with one hand, Dabi brought up his now free hand right next to Sakura's face, and a massive blue flame enveloped it. Presently, he was not attacking her, but his hand was close enough that she could feel the intense heat from his flames on her skin.
"You're right. It's my fault for expecting that by some miracle what I lost, would come back to me. Sakura died with Touya, she can't be alive. So, how dare you, imposter, wear her face and piss me off!" Dabi screamed in her face, and immediately, shoved his burning hand to her face. Dabi expected to hear cries of pain and agony like his victims usually did when he burned them to death. However, instead, there was a popping sound, and a cloud of smoke was left.
Once more, his eyes widened in surprise, but immediately, his head whipped to where he saw Sakura was attempting to escape from him. Before she could flee from him, Dabi reached out and grabbed the back of her hair harshly, and then pulled her to him. Right away, he grasped both of her wrists in one hand again, and kept a strong grip on in locks with her other, keeping her still. Her back was against his chest, and Sakura tried to thrash out of his hold, but froze when Dabi dug his nose in the crook of her neck, and inhaled deeply, taking in her scent.
"You smell just like my cherry blossom, imposter. I don't think you're just wearing her face, I think you're lying, Sakura. You know, I detest lies. Why did you abandon me?!" Dabi growled, and there was clear aggravation in his voice. In response to his anger, blue flames enveloped his hand subconsciously, and this time, Sakura felt the burn on her wrists. She cried out in pain, and tried to wriggle herself away from Dabi.
"I'm sorry, I don't know you! I don't know what you're talking about! P-Please, let-let me go," Sakura begged, and this time tears welled in the corner of her eyes. Feeling angrier by her response and denial about his identity, Dabi's flames became hotter, and Sakura cried out louder in pain; this continued, and Dabi showed no mercy in how he was burning her wrists until her final cry and will to fight left her. Evidently, overwhelmed with her previous fight, dimensional travel, and then being burnt, it didn't take much before Sakura to pass out. Once she did, Dabi caught her. Then, he stared at her intently and took in everything about her - her soft pink locks sticking to her forehead in sweat, her heart shaped face, all the particular blemishes on her skin that he still remembered, and the feeling of her soft body in his arms once more.
Her attire was strange, and besides the new burn marks on her wrists that he had just given her, there was no other burns, which meant that she knew how to heal them.
There were too similarities for it to be not his Sakura, he just needed to burn her current denial and naivety out of her, or actually make remember who he was and his importance to her, if the memory loss she implied was real. But, all of this had to be done in a more secluded place, not in a random field where discovery of Sakura, would lead others to him - Touya. It wasn't time for that, not yet.
Gently taking the left half of her shirt and over her arm, Dabi zipped up her shirt. Then, he gathered her into his arms, and started to walk back to the league's hideout. Each passing second, his grip on Sakura tightened protectively, and despite how infuriating their interaction had just been, and aside from the anger he held towards her for betraying him, he was delighted that she had returned to him in whatever she was currently - just like she promised she always would.
