But does democratized culture mean better art, film, music and literature or is true talent instead flooded and drowned in the vast digital ocean of mass culture? Is it cultural democracy or mediocrity? This is the question that PressPausePlay brings to the table.
We talk a lot about future. But fact is that we have the future of the humanity in our hands right now. We have a chance to build this and create things.
Nowadays everybody can be a photographer, a designer, a filmmaker or an inventor. Better said: anybody can be an artist. This is the best shot we ever got. We can have a lot of creativity rising to the top. And this way we are less dependent on the big companies who usually take the decisions. But there is a negative side to it, because we see an enormous flood of content that is just simply not worthy to take a look at. How can we pick the good things from all of the work that is exposed on the internet?
