intimacy (Jon braiding Damien's hair? 👀)

No matter how often Jonathan plays with Damien's hair, he can never get enough of it. He lets the soft, pink strands glide through his fingers, admiring the way they catch the soft light of the Lounge.

They're truly magical, Jon decides, because even touching them for such a short time makes him feel happy and comforted inside, the same feeling he gets when he is petting an affectionate cat. Maybe all Deimos/Damiens and alternates have that kitty magic inside their cells, no matter what species they are.

Damien lets out a happy sigh at all the attention and the soft noise is enough to bring Jonathan back to reality. Oh right – he was actually going to do something with all this lovely hair. He kisses the top of Damien's head first, unable to help himself with the affection swelling in his chest.

"Do you have a preference for what style you want it braided in?" He asks as he picks up the comb and the hair ties.

"Anything is fine, darling." Damien replies and Jon can hear the smile in his voice.

He runs the comb through his hair carefully - but there are no knots or kinks in those soft strands and so he goes right to separating them into sections. Years of caring for Mili's hair has taught Jon a lot about how to do hair styles and tie them up correctly.

He knows that Damien is perfectly capable of braiding it himself but it's not about helping him look pretty as much as Jon wanting an excuse to stroke and pet and kiss his hair as much as he desires.

He works in focused silence for a few minutes, getting lost in the mindless yet hypnotic rhythm of crossing sections over each other, repeating it again and again until Damien's hair is all tucked neatly together. Damien's hair is soft and silky, dazzling even in the artificial lighting of the Office.

Jonathan takes another moment to admire him like this, sitting in front of him with his hair braided, expression happy and trusting.

How did I get so lucky? Jonathan wonders, not for the first time since meeting Damien. When he thinks about all the chaos he endured that led him up to the moment of first meeting him in the hallways of his Office, he knows it was all worth it.

"There." He finishes up by kissing the top of Damien's head. "All done. You look gorgeous, love."

"WHY IS EVERYTHING SO LOUD." Dad!Jon is clutching his ears and muttering curses under his breath that sound like angry hissing.

Hey dad!Jon when you make your caramel do you mix it. This is the step before you add the cream and butter to the liquid, caramelized sugar. Do you mix your melting sugar

"Hmm, yes I do stir the caramel until it's melted, and then after cooking it a bit, I stir in the rest of the ingredients." Dad!Jon says with a small shrug.

"I have heard people claim you should not stir the sugar at all to prevent crystallization but that depends on what kind of caramel you are making as well. I tend to make caramel sauce instead of toffees."
