after the coffee shop incident, vinnie found himself thinking about you a lot, more than he’d like to admit. the two of you ended up running into each other again a few days after that.
vinnie wasn’t one to think much about fate, he honestly never really believed in it. when he saw you again though, he knew it wasn’t just a coincidence.
the two of you talked for a bit before vinnie finally got the courage to ask for your number. once you gave it to him, he had mentioned something about a date.
you thought he was just joking around with you, you had gotten the idea he didn’t really want anything serious anyways.
once vinnie had put his son to bed, however, he was up until late hours of the night texting you. getting to know you, what hobbies you’re interested in, what you do for a living, any question he could ask.
he finally brought up the date again, asking if you were free on the upcoming friday night. you were, and even if you weren’t, you’d find a way to go out.
vinnie couldn’t help but smile ear to ear when you had said you were available. he was ecstatic, practically counting down the days until it was time for the date.
once saturday rolled around, he texted you right after he got jj ready for the day. he asked if you were still up for it, which of course you said yes.
he let you know he’d pick you up around seven, not wanting to be too early, but also not wanting to be too late either.
all throughout the day both of you could only think about the night ahead. never had you thought you’d agree to a date with some guy you just met at a coffee shop.
seven pm finally came and vinnie was right outside your house. he texted you saying he was there and you quickly made your way out to his car.
“hey.” you smile as you get in the car. buckling your seatbelt, you put your purse on the floor beside your feet.
vinnie glanced at you for a moment, taking in your appearance. you wore a long black dress that he thought looked absolutely beautiful on you.
“hey,” he says, giving you a smile in return. “you look beautiful.”
blushing, you reply, “thank you.” shyly. vinnie thought it was the cutest thing.
after making sure you were ready to go, vinnie put the car in drive and the two of you were off to the restaurant.
on the way, he made small conversation — or tried to. he couldn’t help the fact he was nervous. he hadn’t been on a date since before jj was even born, so it’s definitely been a minute.
once the two of you made it to the restaurant, vinnie put the car in park and got out. he rounded the car and opened your door for you, smiling as he held out his hand for you to take.
with a thank you, you took his hand and the two of you walked into the restaurant.
once seated, the two of you talked for a minute before ordering drinks and then food. you noticed vinnie eyeing you every time you’d look away. you almost caught him a couple times as he did.
“so,” you say after taking a sip of your drink. “how long have you lived in LA?” you ask.
vinnie finishes sipping his drink before he says, “since i was eighteen.”
you nod, vinnie can tell you were probably doing math in your head about how long he was in a new city before becoming a father.
but in reality, that wasn’t what you were thinking at all. you watch vinnie sigh, he opens his mouth to speak, but you beat him to it.
“i’m not thinking what you think i am,” you tell him. “stop judging yourself, vinnie.” your tone isn’t stern, he knows you’re not upset, just giving him the self esteem he needs.
he nods his head, sipping his drink. this date isn’t to talk about his son, it’s to get to you and for him to get to know you.
the night continues with smiles and laughs, getting to know each other more and more as the night goes on.
vinnie learned you were into drawing and dabbling in some creative writing. while as you learned that when vinnie has down time, he loves to play video games and practice guitar.
you watch him talk, watch how his hands move and mouth twitches up into a smile when he talks about interests he loves.
“you in college or anything?” vinnie then asks, making you smile and nod.
you put your drink down before answering. “UCLA, coincidentally for creative writing. but i got a few other electives and classes to branch out on.” you explain.
vinnie nods with a smile. “that’s cool, you like it?” he asks.
you hum. “love it,” you smile. “in my last year, just have to figure out a career now.”
vinnie chuckles softly. he takes a sip of his drink again. the two of you continue talking, learning more and more about each other and your lifestyles, along with interests and hobbies.
before the two of you know it, it’s nearing ten pm. vinnie checks his phone and sees a few missed texts from his mom and dad.
“it’s already ten?” you chuckle with a smile. “shit, time does fly when you’re having fun.”
vinnie smiles, feeling relieved at the fact you had fun with him tonight. the two of you pack up your things and he pays the bill before you heard back to his car.
he drives you back to your place, walking you up to your door to say goodnight. as he stands there, the urge to kiss you grows, but he doesn’t want to overstep not only your boundaries, but his own too.
so, he settles on kissing your cheek, caressing the spot he had planted his lips on for a moment. you lean into his touch and smile.
“thank you for tonight, vinnie,” you tell him. “i had a lot of fun, we should do this again.” you smile.
vinnie let’s go of your cheek, putting his arm to the side. “yeah, i had fun. definitely should do it again.” he tells you.
the two of you say goodnight and he gets back in his car and drives home. once he’s settled in bed, he tells you he got home safe and talks to you just a little bit longer before deciding to really call it a night.
as he closes his eyes and starts to drift off to sleep, that’s when he realizes that maybe dating isn’t all that bad.
summary: in which y/n’s family has a fun day out :))
warnings: dad!vinnie, fluff, mentions of sexual themes/acts
if the child’s name so happens to be your name just change it <3
I JUST GOT INTENSE BABY FEVER RANDOMLY??? LIKE HELLO??
y/n stepped out of the shower with a towel wrapped around her body and something covering her hair from dripping along her skin.
the clock in the corner read 9:34am as y/n slipped on her mom jeans and black crop top.
hanging up her towel, she opened up the door to see vinnie still asleep with lilah curled against his chest.
y/n grinned at the sight. vinnie has been her boyfriend for three years now; the pair got together their junior year of high school.
lilah just turned eight months and while it was exhausting being teen parents, it was also rewarding greatly to y/n that she and vinnie were able to support themselves and a child.
y/n took her phone out and snapped a picture. as vinnie began to stir in his sleep, lilah did the same.
like father like daughter…
lilah opened her (e/c) eyes, her long lashes moving up and down.
vinnie rubbed his eyes as he adjusted to the sunlight that dared to peak through the curtains. “what time is it?” he rasped out.
y/n unplugged her phone from the charger. “9:40” she said.
vinnie rubbed the backside of her leg as she stood over him, reaching for lilah.
“good morning, sweet girl,” y/n awed. lilah pushed her face into y/n’s shoulder.
“good morning, baby,” y/n leaned down to press a kiss to vinnie’s lips.
“my wonderful girls,” vinnie grinned, watching y/n from above him.
y/n ran a finger through his messy blond locks. “you should get up and ready, we need to run some errands before we have lunch with the hype house.”
y/n and vinnie began renting their own apartment just outside of LA when y/n got pregnant. while they wanted to stay because of their careers and friends, they knew raising a child in the middle of LA would not be the safest.
“are you cool with feeding her while i shower real quick?” vinnie asked, now sitting up as he pushed his hair out of his eyes.
“yeah,” y/n nodded.
lilah was babbling in y/n’s arms when vinnie stood up, planting kisses on both his girl’s foreheads.
“mhm, love you,” vinnie hummed.
“love you too,” y/n called out.
she took lilah into the small kitchen, placing the child into the high chair. “okay, let’s see. what do you want for breakfast, hm?”
y/n heard the shower go off as she began smashing some bananas and strawberries.
minutes later y/n wiped away the food from lilah’s chin as vinnie came walking out with wet hair, a towel on his waist.
“babe, do you know where my boxers are?” he asked.
“uh, i think there’s some in the dryer. god damn, you’re making me ready for baby two,” y/n joked.
vinnie tried to hide his blushing face as he skidded back to their shared bedroom.
y/n went into lilah’s small bedroom and pulled out an outfit for the toddler. vinnie came into the room, now fully dressed and smelling of cologne.
“want me to wash her off?” vinnie asked as lilah grabbed onto vinnie’s leg.
“please. then get her dressed, if you can. i’m gonna pack some of our stuff.”
-
twenty minutes later vinnie came out with lilah in his arms, a happy grin on both their faces as he tickled her. y/n smiled widely, her heart melting as she picked up the diaper bag.
“okay. we need to go to the trader joes, target, then go to the hype house for lunch.”
vinnie nodded along to what y/n was saying. “ready?” he asked.
“mhm.”
-
“vinnie, we don’t need that-“ y/n approached her boyfriend as he put baby clothes into the basket.
“yes we do! look- she’ll look adorable!” vinnie argued. y/n stared at vinnie, him staring her dead in the eyes firmly before she gave in.
“fine! i can’t resist you right now.” y/n laughed, referring to vinnie holding lilah in a baby carrier (that he insisted on having) strapped to his body.
the baby babbled as she sucked on her finger, vinnie a proud dad as he grinned.
“dilf?” he asked with a smirk.
“definitely,” y/n laughed.
-
after more shopping, vinnie finally drove into the drive way of the hype house. y/n grabbed lilah as vinnie grabbed the diaper bag and they rang the doorbell.
“my baby!” kouvr opened the door, taking lilah from y/n.
“hey!” everyone said as the couple walked into the living room.
vinnie placed his hand on y/n’s back as they followed and sat down. “our favorite child!” thomas smiled, finally taking lilah from alex and kouvr.
jett and vinnie did their bro handshake, getting distracted when jack walked over and jett began expressing to vinnie about the cars they were working on.
“how’s lilah? is she sleeping better?” mia asked, playing with the baby in thomas’ hands.
“yes, thank god. she barely wakes up anymore,” y/n responded. she watched vinnie leave towards the front door with jett and jack.
“men and their cars,” y/n joked.
the group created small talk while they waited for the pizza and chicken wings to arrive. twenty minutes later, the three boys came back in raving about the new motor jett put in.
alex and thomas went to get the pizza from the front door as everyone settled into the kitchen. “you okay?” vinnie asked y/n.
y/n nodded. “can you go get food for lilah while i make us plates?” she asked.
vinnie agreed, kissing y/n on the head before walking over to the diaper bag and grabbing baby food.
“i wanna feed lilah!” kouvr exclaimed, taking the baby food from vinnie.
when y/n was pregnant, alex and kouvr insisted on buying a high chair for the house so whenever they were over lilah got proper care.
y/n let herself fall into a conversation with everyone. vinnie rubbed circles on her thigh comfortingly, enjoying being in the presence of everyone again.
-
later that night, y/n and vinnie wandered into their apartment and got lilah ready for bed before putting her in the crib.
vinnie and y/n hopped in the shower together, “saving water” (as vinnie calls it).
y/n sighed as she finally slipped under the warm covers. vinnie checked the baby monitor, his hair dripping wet as he stood in boxers by the dresser.
“she’s still asleep,” vinnie told her. he laid down next to y/n, feeling her cuddle into him.
“i love our little family,” y/n whispered. her eyelids were desperately trying to close.
this video seriously reminds me of dad!vinnie idk why it’s just the vibes of him cooking maybe his partner just sitting on the counter while the kid or kids are asleep?!
omg YES
you’d be seated on the counter, cris-cross-applesauce and watching him make you food. it’s like 1am and the kids are asleep, but you were starving and vinnie decided to be extra sweet and make you something.
you’d both be super tired and have a hard time speaking properly, so you’d mostly just be in silence, except for the small jokes vinnie said to make you laugh.
everyone is asleep, and yet the two of you aren’t tired?? like you’re body is tired but not SLEEP tired, so you guys watch some animated movie like finding dory or zootopia. y’all don’t fall asleep until like halfway into the movie, where you guys just sleep on the couch in eachothers arms.
vinnie wakes up to his kid jumping on him and telling him to wake up.
it was an early saturday morning, vinnie had the day away from his son, seeing as he dropped him off at his parents place the night before. he had decided to go out to get coffee, a nice change of pace. what he didn’t expect though, was to see you.
vinnie had no intentions on starting another relationship, especially since jj was the one who consumed most of his ‘free time.’ he did think it wouldn’t hurt to at least give you a compliment, you did look beautiful in the summer dress you had on.
it wasn’t like him to go up to a random stranger and compliment them, his social anxiety too intense for that. with you though, something was drawing him toward you and he just had to say something.
the barista called out vinnie’s name, signaling his order was ready, he grabbed his drink with a thank you and sat down at a table.
sighing softly, he racked his mind trying to figure out if he really did want to go up to you and introduce himself. he doesn’t want to get into anything that could be serious, but it wouldn’t hurt to have a friend either.
grabbing his drink, he stood up from his seat and made his way over to you. it felt weird, wrong even and he didn’t know why. instead, he pushed that feeling aside and cleared his throat before speaking.
“hey, i’m sorry if this seems so forward i’m not usually like this either but, i saw you when i walked in and thought you were really pretty so i just had to say something.” he was rambling and he knew it, but at least he said something.
you smile, taking in his nervous demeanor. “thank you.” you reply.
vinnie nods with a smile. “yeah, yeah no problem.” he responds, shoving one of his hands in his jacket pocket.
“you wanna sit? i know that seems forward but you seem…different from everyone else, if that makes sense.” you say with a small chuckle.
vinnie laughs softly with you and nods as he takes a seat, setting his drink down. he looks you over for a minute, noticing all your features.
smiling, you wonder what he’s thinking, why he’s staring at you. you didn’t mind though, he was handsome himself.
“so,” vinnie starts, clearing his throat and taking a sip of his drink. “i’d love to get to know you, if you don’t mind.”
he was nervous, very nervous. he hasn’t been seen like this in five years — before jj was even born.
it felt weird and uncommon. almost like he shouldn’t be doing this. jj was still young, he needed his dad around, and vinnie felt like he couldn’t juggle both at once.
you nod, sipping your drink as well. “what do you wanna know?” you ask.
vinnie sighs, not really knowing what to ask first. “anything really,” he says. “we’ll start with names and go from there.” he chuckles.
you laugh softly, neither of you realizing you haven’t even exchanged names. “i’m y/n.” you smile.
vinnie smiles with you. “vinnie,” he says, referring to himself. “you live here in LA or just visiting?” he then asks.
“i live here,” you smile before taking another sip of your drink. “you?” you ask.
vinnie thought for a moment, thinking weather or not to say what he wants. he doesn’t want to lie and say he’s living alone, but also doesn’t want to scare you with the thought of him having a son, even if this does go nowhere.
“i um… i live here.” he says, anxiety flooding through him. he doesn’t know if he should add on to what he wants to say, or keep it at that.
you notice hehe wants to say more so you smile softly, letting him continue. “i wanna be straight up with you,” he finally said, confidence running through him now. “i-i mean, i don’t know if this’ll even go anywhere, but if it does, i don’t want to lie.”
his words stun you, catch you off guard but you nod your head to let him know to continue. “i have a four year old son, his names jackson but we all just call him jj.”
vinnie notices your smile and is a bit taken aback at your reaction. he sips his drink waiting for you to speak. “awe, he must be adorable!” you gush.
vinnie chuckles. “yeah he’s a pretty good kid. i just wanted to get that out there, didn’t want you to be lied to or anything.” he laughs softly.
you smile at his thoughtfulness and consideration. “i understand,” you say before clearing your throat. “so how old are you if your son’s four?” you ask.
“twenty three.” vinnie answers without hesitation.
he can see the gears turn in your head as you do the math and he stays silent for a minute. “teen dad,” he chuckles. “ i know what you might be thinking but honestly, i couldn’t imagine my life without him, he’s really changed me for the better.” he explains.
you shake your head. “i’m not judging at all, i never would. i’m twenty two by the way.” you smile.
vinnie smiles too, appreciating the fact you’re not judging him for having a child so young. the two of you talk and get to know each other a bit more before vinnie gets a text from his mom, saying jj is wondering where he is.
vinnie chuckles at the text and you smile, confining to finish your cup of coffee. “i should get going, that’s him actually.” vinnie says.
nodding, you stand up with him as you grab your things. “well it was nice to meet you, maybe we’ll see each other around?”
vinnie nods. “yeah definitely,” he smiles. “i’m pretty busy mostly but hopefully we’ll run into each other soon.”
with one last goodbys, you grab your stuff and head out of the coffee shop, vinnie doing the same a few minutes after you.
as he gets back in his car and drives to his parents, he can’t help but think of you, wondering if he’s going to keep his word on not starting a relationship or not.
introduction !!! i hope you guys are excited for this because i am !! remember you can always come chat with me in my inbox ab dad!vinnie & reader !! i’d love talking with yall ab it !!
HEYYY GIRLL i was just thinking… if vinnie was going on a trip or something and reader offered to take care of jj, how do you think their day/night would go ALSO I LOVE YOUR FICSSS
thank you !! <33
i can definitely see this happening in the farther future, say vinnie has to go out of town where reader can’t go.
he’d still be hesitant, even if the two had been together for a bit of time, he’s always been like that over jj, even if his mom & dad watched him. he’d be okay with it either way, plus by this time, jj has warmed up to reader and absolutely adores them !!
the night would go like any other for the most part. dinner, baths, pajamas, and bed. if it’s a friday night or saturday, reader will let jj stay up just a little bit later than usual.
one night though, jj convinces you that his dad lets him have a bit of ice cream before bed. you were hesitant on it, it seemed out of the ordinary, but the boy convinced you nonetheless. half hour later he was bouncing off the walls and couldn’t sleep.
when you finally did get him into bed, you went into vinnies room (he said you could sleep there while he was gone) and called him just to check in.
the phone call went like this:
“hey, everything go alright?” vinnie had asked you the minute he picked up.
you were hesitant to tell him but he needed to know. “yeah, all good. j did sneak in some ice cream though.”
vinnie laughed from the other side of the phone which made you smile.
“he said you let him have a little sometimes, don’t be mad.” you said once he didn’t answer.
“m’not mad, don’t worry. to let you know though, i never said that.” his tone is playful, so you know he’s not mad.
that’ll be the last time you let the boy talk you into stuff while you watch him though.
warnings; pregnancy, mentions of birth, ppd (postpartum depression), bit of angst, language, overall fluff/dad!vinnie (:
summary; you and vin are first time parents, surely the whole parenting thing can’t be too hard, right?
✧∘* ೃ ⋆。˚.
both of you stuck to your word — in two years time you’ll have children, and you did. well, you’re about to. currently, you’re in the last few weeks of pregnancy and they have been kicking your ass.
vinnie has been nothing but supportive throughout all of this, and you couldn’t have loved him more for it.
he’s always there when you need help getting up, putting on your shoes, and sometimes, even helping you wash up in the shower.
you’re so grateful that he’s been with you for all these years, that you had gotten the honor of calling him your husband for the past two, and that you get to tell everyone he’s the father of your children.
weeks ago, at the first ultrasound you two went to, you found out there wasn’t one, but two mini vinnie’s and you’s to add to the mix.
a boy and a girl. an equal pair.
of course you found out the gender weeks after the first ultrasound, but that didn’t matter.
what mattered was that those two babies were going to be loved unconditionally.
for the most part you’ve been enjoying pregnancy, overwhelming joy about the two new lives that are about to enter the world.
over the past week however, it’s been a nightmare. back pain, cramping in every which way, never being comfortable, especially when you sleep.
you’re so lucky you have vinnie by your side, he really has made these past nine months bearable.
✧∘* ೃ ⋆。˚.
about a week has passed now and you are nearing your due date, ready for these two babies to be with you already.
you and vinnie have been brainstorming names like crazy, still stuck on a few for awhile now, but want to keep your options open.
“okay,” vinnie says as he plops down on the couch next to you, wrapping his arms around you. “anything new?” he asks, referring to baby names.
you open the notes app on your phone and click on the baby names notes, smiling when you see the list pop up.
before reading off the names you get an intense pain in your back. vinnie stands up and grabs your hands, pulling you up with him.
he sits back down on the couch, back against the armrest, he grabs your hand and carefully pulls you down to lay your back against his chest.
once you get comfortable, vinnie wraps his arms around your waist and rests his hands on your stomach, smiling softly.
he kisses your head. “better?” he asks, you hum in response.
now that you’re in a more comfortable position, you smile as you turn your phone back on and go back to the list of names.
you scan through the list you have consisting of first and middle names.
“what about wesley?” you turn your head to look at your husband with a smile.
vinnie smiles with you, moving his hands up to your shoulders and rubbing them gently.
“got a middle name to go with it?” he asks, seeing the columned list you have.
“mhm,” you reply with a nod. “wesley james.” you conclude.
vinnie smiles. “what about for our girl?” he asks, making you smile wide.
our girl. you think to yourself. sometimes you cant fathom the thought that this is your life now. the man you’ve been with for most of your life, is now a father to your children.
our girl.
our boy.
the smile does leave your face when you answer him. “amelia jade.”
you wanted the two to have somewhat similar names but still let them be their own two people with different personalities. so, you stuck with having the twins share the same initial for their middle name.
vinnie smiles, he wants to kiss you and hold you so bad so he pats your back for you to carefully sit up.
he gets up from behind you, turning to face you to help you up as well. once you’re on your feet he wraps you in his arms.
he hugs you for awhile, just wanting to feel your body as close to his as possible in an embrace.
vinnie pulls away but soon rests his hands against your cheeks, stroking them gently as he looks into your eyes with so much love.
you can’t help but smile, he smiles with you. “i love you so much.” vinnie says.
you try to reply but can’t because before you know it his lips are on yours. moments go by and you two pull away, wide smiles forming across your faces.
“i love you more, vin.” you finally reply, running your hands down his tattooed arms.
he looks at you, and all you can see is love in his eyes. love for you, love for wesley, and love for amelia.
you couldn’t be more grateful for him in your life as you are right now.
✧∘* ೃ ⋆。˚.
the day has finally arrived. you woke up early in the morning to use the bathroom, but when you went back to bed you woke up again minutes later to a sharp pain and to find your bedsheets wet.
you didn’t panic, well, you didn’t panic externally. internally you were freaking out. you remained calm and woke up the sleeping man beside you.
“vin, wake up.” you shake the man until he’s awake. he quickly gets up and you inform him on what’s going on.
the two of you grab the bags you’ve packed and head to the hospital. on the drive there vinnie holds your hand in his, rubbing his thumb over your knuckles to calm you.
once you two arrive at the hospital you quickly get checked in and into the labor and delivery room you’ll be in.
everything calms down to an extent once you two get settled into the room. vinnie checks on you every few minutes to see how you’re doing.
you love that he cares but as the pain gets more and more unbearable, you wish he’d shut up.
he starts to ask if you’re okay again but you quickly cut him off with a shout. the two of you look at each other wide-eyed for a moment.
“i’m so sorry, v.” you apologize, tears welling up in your eyes.
he walks over to you and sushes you while combing your hair with his fingers.
he can’t get angry with you because he knows you’re in pain, and he knows you don’t mean it.
he kisses your head and you grab his arm tightly, not wanting to let go.
that and the fact you’re experiencing extreme pain right now.
“don’t apologize, baby, it’s okay. i know you didn’t mean it.” he replies once you let go of his arm, letting him know the pain subsided.
✧∘* ೃ ⋆。˚.
hours had passed and your two beautiful twins were born. you held amelia while vinnie held wesley, and the two of you smiled at each other.
he was so proud of you in this moment, and so happy to finally have his two babies with him, making his family complete.
sure, you two might want more children in the future, but for now your family’s complete.
vinnie kissed your forehead and smiled into your skin, staying like that for a moment before he kissed his son’s head.
his son.
“vin?” the blonde heard your voice slightly, he looked at you, waiting for you to continue. “i’m gonna try to nap while they’re still quiet, can you take lia?” you informed.
vinnie nodded, putting wesley down before picking up his daughter.
“thank you.” you smiled at your husband, trying your best to get comfortable in the hospital bed.
as you slept, vinnie sat on the couch across from your bed, holding amelia while wesley laid in a bassinet.
“hi, my girl,” vinnie spoke softly, looking at his daughter with such admiration.
he contemplated on calling his parents and brother, the two of you haven’t told any family yet, wanting to soak in the feeling of being a little family of four.
“you wanna met your uncle reggie?” vinnie asked the baby in his arms, smiling at her before turning to look at his son.
“what about you, wes?” he asked wesley with a smile.
vinnie carefully leaned over to grab his phone from the coffee table in front of him, making sure amelia was still snug in his arms.
he quickly glanced over at you, smiling at how peaceful you looked as you got some much needed sleep.
vinnie opened up his phone and pressed on his brothers contact, the line rang for a few seconds before the younger man answered his phone.
vinnie made sure to get amelia in frame so when reggie answered, he could see his niece.
once his brother appeared on screen, vinnie smiled with a small chuckle before saying hello.
“whose is that?” is the first thing reggie asked after being greeted by his older brother.
vinnie let out a laugh. “this is my daughter reg,” he confirmed. “whose else’s would it be?”
reggie laughs with his brother. “what’s her name?” he asks.
everyone knew you pregnant, neither you or vinnie were keeping it a secret, it was the birth that was a secret to others.
until now.
“amelia jade.” vinnie answered with a smile, stroking his daughters cheek lightly.
reggie smiled, congratulating his brother. before the younger man could get his sentence out, vinnie stopped him.
“wait, i have someone else for you to meet too.” vinnie said, putting his phone down so he could put amelia in a bassinet next to wesley’s.
vinnie picked up his son and then picked up his phone after, sitting back on the couch.
he showed his brother the newborn, letting the man on the other line fully congratulate him now.
vinnie put wesley back in the bassinet and sat back on the couch to talk to his brother for a little while longer.
after about a half hour you started to wake up, vinnie told his brother goodbye before hanging up.
the twins were asleep now so vinnie could give you his full attention.
“hey, my love,” he greeted with a smile, walking over to you. “how’d you sleep?” he asked as he sat next to you on the bed.
you smiled at your husband, grabbing his hand so you could hold it, wanting to feel his touch.
“slept okay, how are the twins?” you asked, looking around for the two babies.
vinnie saw you start to panic and calmed you down. “don’t worry, baby, they’re okay. they’re good, sleeping peacefully.” he replied.
you smiled, kissing his hand. “who were you just talking to?” you asked.
“i called reggie and had him meet the twins,” he informed. “i was gonna call my parents after but you woke up.”
you smiled, you missed vinnie’s family so much, you haven’t seen them in awhile due to the pregnancy and not being allowed to fly after a certain point.
“you could’ve called them, v. i wouldn’t have minded.” you told him.
vinnie shrugged. he honestly just wanted to spend as much time with you as he could since you two were about to be very busy.
✧∘* ೃ ⋆。˚.
a few weeks have passed, you two finally got to bring the twins home but ever since then things have been going downhill.
you’ve been feeling a lot of anxiety as well as a overwhelming feeling of sadness.
at one of the twins’ appointments you mentioned it to your doctor, she informed you that it was postpartum depression. she told you many women were diagnosed with this and that it was nothing to worry about.
when you got home that day you informed vinnie and he was super supportive, as always.
you’d get frustrated at times, though. feeling as if you weren’t a good enough mom, or sometimes could barely even get out of bed at times.
this morning however, you had both babies in bed with you while vinnie was downstairs making breakfast.
wesley started crying and soon followed amelia, it was all too much to handle and you needed an out.
you grabbed your phone and texted vinnie, he replied soon after and was up in your shared bedroom in a second.
“what’s going on, my love?” he asked, he stood in the doorway before he saw you start to tear up.
he rushed to your side, kissing your head as you continued to cry.
he wiped your tears away with the pad of his thumbs, careful enough to not bump his arm on his son’s head.
“talk to me, baby.” he told you as he picked up his daughter.
he cradled her in his arms, shushing her quiet cries. you soon calmed down enough to answer him.
“remember the postpartum thing i told you about?” you asked, vinnie nodded. “it’s just been so hard, vin.” you tell him.
he doesn’t reply, instead, he grabs wesley from your arms and walks the two infants to a small crib, placing them in separate ones.
vinnie came back to the bed, getting into it so he could wrap you up in your arms.
you laid your head on his chest, listening to his heartbeat while he rubbed your back.
“i just get this overwhelming feeling of sadness and anxiety ever since we brought them home.” you speak.
vinnie nods. “i’m sorry, love. i wish there was something i can do to help you out.” he says, trying to reassure you.
he holds you in silence for awhile before your voice is heard again. “i cant do anything, vin!”
tears start to spill out of your eyes, loud sobs is all that’s heard in the room.
“you can do things, baby. i know it’s hard for you to get up, but you can do it. you know i’m always here for you too.” vinnie reassures.
he doesn’t understand. you think to yourself.
you huff. “ vin, i physically cannot get out of bed, i cannot take care of myself let alone my babies. i know you’re here and you’re helping, but that still doesn’t make me feel a little bit guilty once i see you carry both babies away from me.” you explain.
he sighs, you’re right, he doesn’t understand. he’s had depression, sure, but not this kind of it.
“i’m sorry, y/n. i don’t understand what you’re going through, but please, please don’t feel guilty when you see me take them away.”
you let out a heavy sigh, not wanting to fight, but you need to get this off your chest.
“i’m their mother, vinnie. it’s my job to take care of them, to take them to their weekly appointments, to fed them, to change them, to entertain them. i feel like i’m fucking failing them as a mom and they’re three weeks old!” you exclaim loudly but quietly enough to where you don’t wake up the twins.
you feel vinnie’s hand come to a stop on your back, feeling like you just made a huge mistake, you open your mouth to speak again but vinnie beats you to it.
“y/n, you are the most incredible mother i’ve seen. i know you feel the need to do all those things, but that’s why i am also here. if you need to rest, tell me. hell, you told me you wanted to nap when you were in the hospital and you know what i said? i told you to rest because you had just been through what is the most beautiful thing, but scariest at the same time. so if you need a breather, just tell me, baby. please.”
you wanted to cry, you loved this man so much and were so grateful for him. you tried your best to hug him the best you can without hurting yourself.
when you pulled away, vinnie kissed you ever so softly, resting his forehead against yours.
“i’m always gonna be here for you, y/n. forever and ever. i’m not going anywhere.” he whispered to you.
“forever always?” you asked him.
he smiled, kissing you once more before saying: “forever always, my love.”
