I had a gun to my head
HERE IT IS!!
It Takes Three
(Next Chapter)
Bilbo tried to ignore the Dwarves as they followed Gandalf into the Trolls Cave. Because of course they still blamed him after he saved their ungrateful arses.
He tried to stay away from them, though it was difficult inside the cavern. Especially when Gandalf was unfortunately occupied by Thorin.
So he just wandered the cave, snooping in the least gross areas. Which was very little of course.
“YES!” A cry startled Bilbo, he flicked his tail in irritation when he spotted Nori victoriously holding a chest over his head while a couple of the others also celebrated their findings,
He rolled his eyes at their shenanigans, almost cracking a smile at their joy.
But then he heard something.
Bilbo discovered that as a Hobbit he had a lot of advantages that Dwarrow didn’t. Including a far more advanced hearing.
He focused hard for a moment. Holding himself very still as his ears flicked around cautiously.
And just when he began to wonder if it was just his imagination…
“Wah”
“Waahhh”
His heart leapt to his throat as he zeroed in on the direction the gurgles were coming from. He started towards the deeper and darker part of the cave.
“Burglar?” He tried to ignore Thorin’s voice behind him. In the darkness he could somewhat make out…
A caravan?
He climbed aboard the caravan and tore through blankets and pushes aside boxes filled with various merchandise.
Until he found it.
“Sweet Yavannah” he breathed. “Food. FOOD I NEED FOOD”
He spun around to meet Thorin directly behind him, unable to see what he was in front of. Maybe it was the panic in his eyes that made the King responsive for once.
He echoed Bilbos cry as a command to the Company and quickly Bombur was at their side, undoing every pocket and bag he had.
Bilbo reached down carefully, and opened up the cradle.
Revealing not one, not two, but three little kids.
All of them Hobbits.
All alone.
All looking up at him with the biggest and cutest eyes, too pale and skinny to be healthy.
And they wailed now that the cradle was uncovered. Wailed with the force of three little faunts clearly malnourished and all alone.
It broke his heart. And little did he know that for the King behind him it was much the same.
And for Thorin and Bilbo, these children would change the course of their entire adventure… and lives.

So? How do we like it? Should I continue? (Even though I’m already heavily delayed on TWWC)
