this may not make sense but I'm thinking about the two dates in terms of the old and the new: gol d., king of the old golden pirate era, specifically caused world-shaping events, born the last day of an old year... ace, part of the new- one of the bridges between the two eras- indirectly catalyzed world-shaping events, and tore to shreds/overhauled Luffy's perspective as a result, who's the future king of the pirates. born on the first day of a new year...
