When you and Sam first met, he told you that he was adapting the vegan lifestyle. It was something that was important to him, and it was important that you knew too. He told you he wasn’t going to force his dietary habits on you, but you slowly, over time adopted some of them. You quit eating red meat, choosing fish or chicken most of the time. You chose almond milk over cows milk, free range eggs over those from corporate companies. Slowly, over time, those cravings of wanting a hamburger or swiss cheese faded away. . . that was until you got pregnant.
You held the refrigerator door open, staring at the tofu and kale on the shelf. You had been struggling, fighting off the craving of wanting a steak and cheese fries, all for Sam. He never said he was disgusted by it, but he was disgusted by it.
“I don’t think food is magically going to appear,” Sam said causing you to jump, “You’ve been standing there for the past 5 minutes. What do you need?”
You closed the door slowly, and turned to face him, “Samuel Francis Kiszka, you know that I love you,”
“I would hope so,” Sam laughed, walking over to you, and placing his hands on your growing bump, “What do you need?”
“A steak,”
“No,”
“Please, Sam! Your children want a steak,” You complained.
“Y/N, I love you. . . but I can’t do it. It’s so. . . red, and bloody and. . .”
Tears clouded your eyes, guilt filling your body. You had promised your self that you would never ask Sam to get you anything that dealt with red meat. He could look past the chicken and fish, but drew the line at anything to do with cows. Sam loved cows, and had bought a huge baby calf picture to hang up in the nursery.
“I’m sorry,” You cried.
“Hey, no, it’s okay. I’ll just ask Jake or Danny,”
“No, it’s fine. I’m sorry I made you uncomfortable.”
“Y/N,” Sam said, but knew you were more stubborn now than you ever have been. Sam sighed, knowing you had already moved on from the fight, “What can I make you that we have here?”
“I’ll take some chicken and rice,” You responded. Sam nodded and kissed your forehead, before watching you leave to go upstairs. Sam listened and waited for the bedroom door open and the bathtub start running. He sighed, and fished his phone out, dialing for his best friend.
When you got out of the bath and walked down stairs, the wonderful smell that filled you nose, made your mouth water. You basically ran as fast as you could, to the kitchen and saw the most wonderful meal set on the table.
“I know it’s been hard with my diet and your cravings,” Sam said, “Sometimes I wonder if you’re getting the right amounts of protein and stuff because we eat mostly plant based. But I called in a favor,” Sam gestured to the steak and cheese fries that sat on the table, “I also called him to keep you company, cause I can’t even look at that thing without thinking of the cow picture in the twin’s room.” Danny waved at you from behind Sam.
You giggled and hugged Sam tightly. He sighed into the hug and rubbed your back. He kissed your lips before heading out of the kitchen. You sat down at the table across from Danny, and basically moaned at the sight of the one thing you had been craving since day 1.
“You don’t know how long I’ve waited for this,” You said, and cut into the piece of meat.
“I can tell,” Danny laughed, “Sam about gagged as I was cooking it.” You smiled as you ate your meal, “He really loves you, ya know.”
“Oh I know, he would’ve kicked me out by now,”
“I’m still debating!” Sam yelled from the living room.
Jake's little girl waking him up because she had a nightmare and she needs him to sing her song while he rocks her in his arms
you’re laying in bed next to them pretending to still be asleep so you can listen in on the sweet moment between Jake and Dylan.
“what’s wrong dilly?” jake asks her as she tugs on his pillow.
“i had a nightmare,” she whispers. Jake is now awake pushing himself up.
“A nightmare? come here sprout.” Jake pushes the covers back so she can climb into bed, “wanna talk about it?” He asks her as she gets comfortable in his lap. Dylan shakes her head.
“can you sing my song?” Dylan asks and Jake smiles. You couldn’t help the smile that stretched across your face as you heard him sing. The song had become Dylan’s favorite from the first time he sang it to her while she was still in the womb.
“Let me tell you 'bout a girl I know, She is my baby and she lives next door. . .”
Do you have any sneak peeks of Karen during one of the labors?
possibly…
“That’s it Y/N just breathe,” Karen said as she pressed on your lower back. Sam had stepped out of the room to go greet his brothers and left you in the comfort and care of his mother.
“How long was it with your twins?” You were standing over the side of the bed, hands flat on the bed, swaying your hips gently to try and receive some pressure.
“Too damn long,” Karen laughed and you chuckled, feeling another contraction, “Sam was really the trouble kid though. He was breech until about 2 hours before he popped out. Lennon move yet?”
“Nope,” You shook your head, wincing at the pain, “Oh my god, oh my god, Karen, it hurts.”
“I know,” Karen said and could since the shift in your body as she grabbed the plastic trash bin and held it in front of you so you could vomit, “I got you, sweetheart, you’ll be okay.”
I watched a guy pull up to walmart in a minivan today and when I went inside a little bit later I ran into him. He had four kids following him and another strapped to his back and the four following him were all chanting 'cheese puffs' repeatedly until they found them.
dad!josh would go nuts with breathing techniques i swear he would remind every so often and it would be the most painful part of labor aside from, you know, the Baby
“dove, remember your breathing”
“FUCK YOU”
“… i’m gonna ask again in five, ok? great”
josh: “in and out, babe. listen to the calming sound of the-“
you: “josh, i’ll fucking choke you with the umbilical cord.”
josh: “i imagine Oliver to be like his mom: an artist, a kind and free soul, a gentle lover of all those around him.”
jake: “Dylan will probably be a lot like me. Shy, quiet, musically talented. I hope she’s smarter tho. If she’s as beautiful as her mother, her uncles and i are gonna need to take some fighting lessons”
sam: “I imagine Lennon to be like me and my brothers and Harrison to be like Danny and Y/N. Baby girl will probably be a wild little pyromaniac, while baby boy is all safety and rules.”
danny: “Jude will probably be head strong like his momma. He already has proven he’s not going down without a fight”
