(I'm much worse at keeping track of things I watch than things I read but I think this is most of them)
the line between the first two tiers is blurry, I went back and forth on a lot of those

This week's horror films rec
I haven't done this in a while and it might be very sporadic in the future, but I've missed sharing my love for horror films.
So here are those I've watched this week, who all happen to be bangers.
First: Daddy's Head (2024)
Chilling creature feature, short but very effective.
Smile 2 (2024)
You do need to have a seen the first one as it starts with one one of its characters + to understand the curse's mechanics that are eluded to. Other than that it's an excellent follow-up, very tense, with signature twists towards the end that do manage to surprise.
28 Years Later (2025)
This one is still in theaters but it's worth it. No need to have seen the 2 previous parts to follow it. Danny Boyle reused the grainy texture he gave to his first film for many shots and gave his characters many human moments that are very appreciated in this violent, zombie-esque, flick. Loved it !

"Daddy's Head" just came out on Shudder and it's definitely going to make you question what might be lurking in the dark while you're sleeping...
31 Nights of Halloween Horror
Day 12
Late post, this weekend at work was hectic lol. My choice for Saturday was Daddy's Head
I'm rating this 7/10, mostly because that thing was creepy as hell lol. The storyline was fine, the acting was fine, the kid especially did a good job as a grieving angry preteen boy. The monster thing as I said was thoroughly creepy. Didn't like it's voice, didn't like the scuttling thing it did. The wood thing in the woods was cool visually, but hell naw I wouldn't be going in that thing. Worth a watch!
