     her  first  night  away  from  the  hassaikai  &  in  the  comfort  &  warmth  of  the  bedroom  mister  shigaraki  had  offered  her  &  even  staying  in  the  room  with  her  until  she  fell  asleep.  though,  it  was  scary  being  (  almost  )  alone,  still  unsure  of  whether  or  not  she  should  place  her  trust  in  him.  he  did  say  to  shout  for  him  if  she  needed  anything  &  well..  she  wanted  to  know,  herself  that  she  was  safe.  not  just  by  him  or  someone  saying  she  is,  but  by  no  longer  feeling  so  afraid  as  she  currently  is.

     covered  up  in  the  softness  of  the  blanket  &  new  clothes  mister  shigaraki  had  called  them..  pajamas?  it  sounded  like  a  difficult  word  to  say  when  first  hearing  it,  but  she  did  really  enjoy  wearing  them.  they  were  soft  &  comfortable  against  her  skin!  (  unlike  the  thin  rag  she  had  previously  been  wearing.  )

     unfortunately  everything  he  had  gifted  her  to  make  her  feel  more  comfortable  in  his  home-..  her  new  home,  only  helped  up  to  a  certain  degree  &  even  more  unfortunate,  none  of  them  would  really  help  her  when  it  came  to  the  inevitable  nightmares  she  would  live  with  for..  who  knows  how  long?  she  certainly  doesn’t.

     the  waking  from  her  sleep  had  her  sweating,  trembling,  &  trying  to  keep  herself  from  crying.  only  small  whimpers  come  from  her  closed  mouth  as  she  hides  herself  under  the  blanket.  she  could  call  for  him..  he  said  she  could..  but  what  if  he  was  sleeping  or  doing  something  important?  it  felt  too  risky..  the  last  thing  she  wanted  to  do  was  give  him  any  reason  to  be  upset  with  her  &  ruin  what  life  she  could  have  here.

     all  to  eri’s  complete  surprise  does  she  hear  his  voice  of  concern.  she  peeks  her  head  out  from  her  blanket  to  see  him  with  arms  open  &  welcoming.  he’s  here  even  though  she  never  called  for  him?  how  did  he  know?  no  one’s  ever  done  this  for  her  before.  tears  swelling  &  glittering  in  her  eyes  from  the  light  of  her  small  night  light  he  had  also  gifted  her.  eri  looks  at  him  for  a  short  moment  before  pulling  herself  out  of  the  blanket  &  holding  her  arms  out  as  her  sign  that  she’ll  accept  his  hug.  something  she  doesn’t  ever  remember  feeling.

     once  in  his  arms,  he  speaks  again;  ‘  i’m  here.  i  promise.  ’.  just  as  she  thought  she  would  be  able  to  calm  down,  eri  finds  herself  hiding  her  face  into  his  shirt  &  allowing  herself  to  cry.  a  form  of  father  /  daughter  moment  she  doesn’t  really  know  about  &  one  she  wouldn’t  remember  doing  with  her  own  -  except  for  maybe  the  similar  feeling  of  calm  &  comfort  she  would  feel  back  when  she  would  hug  or  cry  into  him.  back  when  she  still had  him.
