Headcanon that despite his absolute love for everything outdoorsy, David hates snow, and isn't the biggest fan of winter. Poor boy gets cold really easily. So you'll usually always see him with a hot beverage, (usually hot cocoa. It's always been a comfort drink for him, and he puts little sprinkles, marshmallows, and whipped cream in it. David hot cocoa really hits different. Jasper ((and by extension Max)) look forward to the season just so they have an excuse to drink it everyday) warm sweatpants and an oversized hoodie. Jasper teases him relentlessly how easily he gets cold, but he finds it adorable. Therefore Jasper is usually the one who shovels the snow, and David always insists that he take a warm bath and eat a hot meal afterwards. Jasper and Max love winter because it means family cuddle time, lots of snacks, and cheesy movies. For those reasons winter is their favorite season, which ironically contrasts David. However, he doesn't mind seeing how happy it makes his boys.

Hello I’m a mess and I might have drawn some pics for it but dadvid au where David’s a teacher and jaspers a graphic designer. And they’re so opposite like jasper does freelancer work mostly and likes to tell people how it is and David’s just so bright and nice and?? Takes the kids out explore learn be free we got this. And they both support max so much???? Jasper isn’t even really big on kids it’s just that his kids obviously the coolest and they go to Max’s everything and it’s so nice ahhhhhhh

Bonus round: jasper wears collared shirts under his T-shirt’s and dresses like a mess and wears all neon but all his designs are super nice and minimalist and really pretty

David occasionally steals the horrible neon clashing-patterned shirts to wear to work when he runs out of his nice dress shirts

David gets the nickname “mr. frizz” from students because of the red hair and magic school bus references and how often he takes them outside to the playground for “field work”

One time at one of Max’s things (sports or music or whatever he’s in this week) jasper shouted “fuck em up max!” and David still hasn’t lived that down with the other teachers

Max pretends to be horribly embarrassed (and generally is) but it’s really nice having both of them around so much and David drives them home and jaspers usually there and they eat dinner together at the table and just talk and he’s???? Not sure how to deal but he likes it
