More Dadrius Tickle Headcannons

(I couldn't wait any longer, it's so much fun writing these!)

- despite being a lee himself, hunter sometimes can get the drop on dear old darius and win a tickle fight

- IF he plays his cards right

- darius isn't ticklish in very many places

- hunter found that out the hard way, trying to tickle him and ending up getting wrecked

- but finally, after many failed attempts, he found his father figure's sweet spots; his neck, his top ribs, and the backs of his knees

- when hunter exploits these spots, darius finds himself overtaken with boisterous laughter

- hunter couldn't believe his eyes, at first, seeing dignified, articulate darius unable to speak through his belly-laughing, and it felt big to finally take him down to his level

- in his afterthoughts, darius is beaming with pride at hunter for being a clever, cunning witch and overpowering him

- in the moment, though, he wishes he wasn't so vulnerable rip

- while hunter squirms in place when tickled because he doesnt want it to stop, darius CANNOT keep still

- he is constantly trying to scramble away, whether he actually wants to or not but ahem why wouldn't he want to this game is for small children

- hunter has to pin him down, otherwise his victory would be very short-lived

- as mentioned earlier, darius can't form proper speech while tickled and just surrenders to the laughter

- moments before, just as he realizes his goose is cooked, he'll give a "don't even think about it, you little punk-"

- but hunter is nothing if not determined

- darius would not be caught dead admitting being ticklish to anyone but hunter. he does have his reputation to think of after all

- while he's tickling poor darius to pieces, hunter eggs him on, taking advantage of the higher ground ("can't a coven head escape a little tickle fight?? 😏")

- if darius really wanted to, he could summon his abomination magic and make the boy stop, and they both know that

- but the moment of indignity is well worth the confidence it brings out in hunter

Dadrius Tickle Headcannons

(these two will be the death of me I swear. dadrius tickles reign SUPREME!)

- darius is obviously not a very touchy person

- he much appreciates his personal space

- the exception of course is hunter

- he finds small ways to show his affection for the kid with little gestures; elbow bumps, ruffling his hair, hands on his shoulders

- and, unfortunately for hunter, tickling is now included

- the poor bab is very ticklish, and what's worse is he's an abysmal liar. try as he might to deny this weakness, his tone demonstrates downright panic and his ears always burn red.

- he never really considered darius finding out because well, how often does that come up in a situation?

- just often enough it would seem

- darius had decided that hunter could really use some basic life skills, sewing being just one of them. one that he insisted on the most was self-defense. if he hadn't stepped in to teach him, hunter might've just wound up dead, considering the severe lack of self preservation. first, darius had to see what he had to work with. he needed hunter to charge him and see what he could do. it wasnt much. the kid tried to overtake him with brute strength and knock him over, but the man hadn't even budged. looking down at this pitiful sight, darius decided to finish this "fight" and tickled the boy's exposed side. with a strangled laugh, hunter flopped to the ground. despite that first failure, darius admitted to himself only that the kid was pretty adorable.

- since then, darius had made it a habit of briefly tickling hunter whenever he teased him

- hunter was defensive at first, embarrassed to have such a stoic, composed father figure view him being so silly and child-like

- but with each time darius tickled him, it became more obvious that it was a display of love and a form of play

- hunter couldn't really say he hated it but darius didnt need to know that

- darius is most certainly a ler

- he can sometimes have fun being tickled but not nearly as much as he enjoys being the tickler

- he's just a sassy king who likes to fuck with people and fluster them ok

- with hunter, it's a little more special because getting a lighthearted smile from him is rare following the traumatic events of the day of unity, so making his bright young child laugh his little heart out with joy melts his heart

- he's always watching for signs that his tickling is unwelcome (consent is unquestionable), but hunter never gives him any

- in fact, hunter gives the opposite!

- he oh so subtly leans into darius's chest during their tickle fight, presuming that the latter doesn't notice

- but he oh so definitely does!

- if darius didn't know any better, he'd almost swear hunter enjoyed being tickled

- but it's not like he could blame the kid
