(I made this a little while ago but never got around to posting it, though I did show it to my dear friend, and I've decided to share it with all of you. Like I've said before some of the ROs will be paired up with other people if the MC doesn't romance them, and this is who Esmé will be paired with. I hope you all enjoy the snippet.)
The sounds of the courtyard were a persistent buzzing in her ears. While they weren’t annoying she could certainly do without them. Especially when she was trying to study for her upcoming exam when she returned to school. Although it was still a long while until that day occured she was always prepared. She refused to let procrastination lead to her downfall, and she refused to fail at anything she put her mind to. Not when so much was at stake for her success. She just wishes that the courtyard of the castle could quiet down somewhat.
Couldn’t they see how desperate she was for them to shut the hell up?
Of course, rationally, she can’t blame them nor can she begrudge them for being so loud. It was a beautiful day and normally she would be laughing right alongside them, but not right now. Even though she wanted nothing more than to join their joyous merriment. She knows that studying was far more important.
Closing her eyes for a moment, Daealla lets her mind clear itself from her earlier annoyance. She would normally be locked up in her room right about now, but her dear brother had wanted to show her something. And not wanting to upset Aghadi she had agreed to his secretive demand. Especially when he gave her that pleading look that always made her heart twist with sympathy. She knows how hard being Emperor was to him and how much weight he has put onto his shoulders because of it. So the least she could do was meet him in the courtyard at noon.
The only problem was that he was late and she was quickly losing her patience.
Feeling a shadow cast itself over her causes Daealla to open her eyes. Her mouth already forming a retort that would quickly send whoever it was away, but before she could form the words they died on her lips. Her breath catching in her throat as she gazes at the beauty standing in front of her.
She had never seen someone so perfect before and she couldn’t help the racing of her heart. Violet eyes quickly taking in the form before her. Passing quickly over a flowing gown that did little to hide the beautiful body underneath. Fair skin that seemed to glow in the afternoon light, and long brown hair the color of her favorite sweet. Daealla raises her gaze and meets twin pools of molten silver. Eyes that she wanted to drown and once again words were forming on her lips, but they quickly die down when a muscular arm wraps itself around the beauty.
Her heart sinking when she recognizes the man it belongs to.
“I’m sorry we’re late, Ella, but I wanted to make sure that you would actually eat for lunch today so we stopped at the bakery that you like,” Aghadi says with a large grin on his face. Causing his obsidian black eyes to glow with warmth and the gold flecks within them to stand out more than usual.
Mustering up a half smile she has nothing left to say but, “Thank you, Aggy, I appreciate it greatly.” With a resigned feeling worming its way into her heart she takes the offered bag of fresh smelling goods. Normally she would be over the moon at her brothers care, but she couldn’t help but feel nauseous. The feeling only grows when he pulls the beautiful goddess down beside him. His arm never strayed from her shoulders.
“I suppose you’re going to introduce me to your friend, Aggy?” she prompts after taking a bite of her roll. Savoring the buttery treat for a moment before the nausea took its place once more.
Shock passes across Aghadi’s features before a blush makes itself known. The red standing out against the tan color of his skin. “I’m so sorry, where are my manners?” he says sheepishly bringing his free hand to rub the back of his. “Ella this is Esme, my girlfriend.”
And just like that she wanted nothing more than to throw up the roll she had just eaten.
