“I—” He opened his mouth to protest but still feeling all riled up, he was quick to shut it. The last thing he wanted to do was snap on Minako all because of this residual rage she had no part in. Other than apparently cleaning up the mess. “You know I wouldn’t have intentionally gotten involved unless I had to, right? I wasn’t looking to fight anyone.” His head was pounding and his right hand was throbbing. It took a lot for Daehyun to resort to violence and while he wasn’t sure he could say he regretted it, he probably should have tried to find a different approach. Now, he had bloody knuckles and a busted lip, with bruises to surely come. “Think I broke my fucking hand...” he grumbled, half in pain and half in frustration.

“Hm? What, Eunji?” It took a moment for the words to register in Daehyun’s mind. And when it finally clicked, he couldn’t help laughing, shaking his head. “No, no. She’s just an old friend of mine. We used to work together, but she moved a year or two ago. She was just back in town to visit.” Of course, he didn’t think anything of it because he genuinely never saw Eunji as more than a friend. She was like a sister to him, if anything. But now that Minako had brought it up, he supposed the picture could appear misleading with Eunji on her tip toes and pressing a kiss to his cheek. It was a group photo, though. And they were all at the tattoo shop. If it was just the two of them alone, he could definitely understand why Minako might be concerned. Even if she was only curious.

Smiling, he leaned in to steal a kiss. “Never thought I’d witness a jealous Minako,” he teased. “She’s actually the only one I ever told about you. How I felt. She wanted me to just rip the band aid off and tell you how I felt a long time ago. But I kept chickening out.” Maybe the next time she’d come back around to visit, they could all coordinate a time and place to hang out. It seemed like it would be a nice plan. Daehyun just wasn’t sure when that would be. “I promise I only have eyes for you. And if that was to somehow change, I would let you know.” He gently cupped her face, pressing a soft kiss to her forehead. “I love you. — I stopped at the store to pick up a few things, so I can make us dinner and you can get out of these scrubs and into something... well, more comfy. And relax after the long day. Deal?”
