Komaeda squinted his eyes before sighing and taking the binoculars he decided to bring. A silent kill, the client asked for, and obviously an easy one with the way the target kept on walking slowly – so very slowly he had far more time than he needed to aim – in the middle of the street, pacing around. At the very least, it would be quick and clean, like most of the requests he took.
The mercenary reached for his blowgun, hidden in his sleeve as usual, his gaze never leaving the man. He just prefered not being seen, even though the dead couldn't really attest of their murderers (this kind of witness isn't worth much). It was easier, in every way, to kill from afar rather than taking on a close-range fight, though he was always prepared for this possibility, of course. He wasn't new in this field, and rare were the targets that managed to surprise him.
His hand was merely a few inches away from the thick, folded tissue containing the poison-coated darts when he heard distant shuffling. The sound would be almost inaudible for somebody who didn't listen so attentively to his surroundings, but got him alert within a few seconds, jumping from his meticulously prepared position to take a more careless, normal one (though he doubted he could fool anybody).
Glaring at the newcomer, Komaeda made up a distasteful expression, not bothering to hide his annoyance at being interrupted.
« Why are you here ? » he spat out to the strange boy in front of him, who ressembled him a bit too much.
