I had to do this, The road to el dorado is one of my fave Dreamworks movies ever (Along The Prince of Egypt and the KFP franchise)

They have the same energy

Also, lore drop:

They met on a music competition festival a few years after secrets of the scroll and before the first film (following the movie timeline, the one for LoA is different)

Shifu went to the festival as Ooway's request, the turtle's comand was a simple one:

"Go, have fun and bring me back a proof you did, the most valuable thing you could find there."

Because he was concerned about Shifu's actitude becoming more and more bitter.

On the other hand, Daiyú went for the money reward, to invest in new materials for the music school where she works...

So both fought hard for the first prize,until the realization that they could work as a team and share.
