I've been listening to a lot of DAIHAKKEN lately and I've been specifically thinking about End of Comedy for a bit because there's like a whole comment thread having a discussion about whether the song is about 'SJW Culture' or not and listening to the song and interpreting the lyrics a few times, I can understand that interpretation a little bit, but I also think that this is interpretation completely misses the point of the whole song and is just kind of wrong?

For a start off that interpretation comes off as very black and white and if there's one basis to most PinocchioP/DAIHAKKEN songs it's that nothing is ever really black and white.

I interpret this song more about how media / content creators tend to be in a situation where they need to appeal to the most general audience possible in order to optimise the attention their work gets. The reason why I don't really agree with the interpretation of 'Wahhh, SJW's ruin everything no one can makes jokes anymore' (ignoring the fact that I'm pretty vehemently opposed to that opinion in the first place) is that there are lyrics that just directly contradict this interpretation, like:

How I interpret these lyrics supports my interpretation of this song, content creators feel the need for their work to be memorable and inoffensive to all audiences, including problematic entities, I've never seen anyone call 'SJW's' problematic, so I doubt it's referring to anything like that.

These lyrics pretty openly acknowledge the flaws behind the kind of opinion of 'Things were so much better in the older days smh' because well: They weren't! A lot of the comedy in old pieces are very much products of it's time yes, and those times tended to be pretty unkind to groups of people which was also integrated into the media of the time. I think it's important that this bridge is then followed by this:

I really love how this song ends so hopefully, times have changed and what comedy used to be has changed. The values that we hold in our current times can still be used for comedy! It is quite obviously saying that good comedy doesn't automatically come from outdated values.

Really, End of Comedy is all about the common creators struggle of feeling like they have to create stuff that only appeals to as wide of a range of people as possible, and how this kills creativity (like comedy) because artists feel like they can't express themselves in cool, different ways anymore. It's not really about anything like 'SJW's vs anti-SJW's' or whatever, even if I think it tends to lean towards not being 'anti-sjw', it's just- not what the song is about at all? I think it's weird that people have kind of twisted it to be like that.
