Daisy Victoria - Animal Lover
Several months ago, I discovered Daisy Victoria and her intriguing back catalog. An artist that stretches and pulls on the envelope of popular music with a sensibility that span several decades, her followup to the anthemic Pain Of Dancers was eagerly anticipated. Her latest, Animal Lover, was well worth the wait. Her voice, a veritable force of nature, leaps and somersaults over a crushing guitar riff. Like a cross between Siouxsie and Kate Bush with shades of Bowie and Lou Reed, it’s a refreshing, viscous slab of rock. Ms Victoria is one banshee we will continue to watch closely.
