DakAkkers

A garden in the middel of Rotterdam, on the top of the city's laboratory, the Schieblock. And this garden is an experiment on its own; it is a test case of green rooftops, it seeks answers for the possibilities on the flat rooftops in the city.
In the garden fruits, vegetables, and herbs are grown and bees are kept. En served every Wednesday at the Schieblock Dakcafe. Besides growing food and plants and hosting visitors, the DakAkker has an educational function. Through workshops and lectures the stories of the graden are told.
The DakAkker is part of the Luchtsingel project that was an initiative chosen by the city.
