That Moment Dale Shows Up At Elsa’s Place Alone, Not with River

“So, uh thought you might have more of those Flaming Cheetos.”
That’s what he would say when she opened the door even though she had brought a new stock the day before at his house when she was there. She was there a lot tending to the injured. Mostly Clopin at this point. Dale’s arms were promoted from casts to just one sling now. He wasn’t the most help with Scout out in the “Ewok Village” when she was trying to make some adjustments. Feeling useless was no fun. He could use metal skills, but arms were still very important despite how much faster they were healing with all the hoodoo involved. It still wasn’t Harry Potter bone grow over night. That would have been nice. But, he was healing quite nicely.
He spent a lot of time with Clopin and Kuzco. He didn’t escape to the island when they weren’t living on it. That seemed off. Chip had left. He was seeing what was going down between Thomas and his father, River and Summer, Agnes and Chip. Piper spent a lot of time following him around and doting on him and driving his ear a little crazy with shit he didn’t want to hear about more often than he liked to admit. Him and Scout were becoming quite the tight knit crew. But, it wasn’t the same. There was so much change happening. It wasn’t like he had his own mother to go to and going to his fathers weren’t something he was going to touch right now. He could tell when things were tense even if they didn’t say so. Esme wasn’t around either. He wasn’t really sure if she was the one he’d ever just go chill with anyway. He knew her the least. She didn’t stay long even if it was Clopin’s daughter. It was hard to get close with everyone in the house. Everyone was used to waiting their turn on things like this. Dale was feeling a little shoved to the back of the line even if he’d never say it that way.
Somehow this was where his feet carried him when wandering aimless to get out of the house, on Elsa’s off day, probably trying to get some space herself.
He looked behind her through the door way.
“So, this is your new place huh?”
