"Not another nightmare is it?"
as all good things come to an end, perhaps the extensive period of time where nights spent sleeping on cloud nine had come to a stop for good. no longer did he wake up greeting a morning sun with a smile on his face, nor did he wake up feeling ready to tackle a new day with all of his might. he woke up disheveled, flustered, from an unnerving dream that caused him to break out in fits of sweating and unconscious groaning and squirming.
for two weeks, he endured the struggle. he no longer desired the time where he could sleep at night, not when he knew he’d be having the same night terrors. he didn’t intend to fall asleep while he spent a late saturday evening with jiwon, but it happened anyway. he told her he didn’t much enjoy romance-comedy movies.
“i’m not surprised.” he spoke out, a palm flushed against his forehead to swipe away small beads of sweat that had formed upon his skin. “if it were possible, i’d never sleep again.”
