hiatus :(

so school starts tomorrow & I'm just not gonna have time to be updating this blog unfortunately :( i may be on from time to time but i'm gonna have to focus on my schoolwork. i'll see you guys maybe mid-november & just know that i love each and every one of you!!

things to know:

my queue is running 3 times a day!!

im not completely abandoning this blog of course, i'll be on maybe a couple of minutes each week

GIRL, or HOW TO LOVE THE DYING // m.g.d.

girl ; all guillotine, glass fingernails                  whalebone eyes there’s no room for lungs in 24 inch waists    & sometimes, the dress squeezes your heart                      out of your throat this bird on a telephone wire romance drives knives through my skin or armor,     i guess

                 we spend our lives fighting, come out midnight skies, black velvet & blue moon, bloody knuckles, broken ribs we wore mascara like war paint pink lipstick still makes me think of you

        you, paradox. clocktower bones, metronome heart holding on to soft even while making mannequin your birdcage frame you carry atlases in the lines of your palms         like road maps                     like plans

you still cling & I tremble knees like chances not taken dollhouse cheeks full with swollen blood vessels             in august, I shatter into porcelain but punches only bruise your measuring tape skin your hourglass hips drain sand    the same way your pushpin lips shrink with each day you don't speak &                                      you                                              are fading

so I’m at a writing workshop camp thing rn and it’s going so well?? I am so happy with all of the things I’m writing and learning :) I also got nominated to read @ this thing in town and I’m so freaking excited !!!

1:21 am, I say: GET OVER HER the poem says: burn it all away the poem says:  dig a grave the poem says: restart restart restart I am trying to change slowly, to take my time. to meander, to exhale, to empty my ribcage so I can breathe something other than cigarette smoke. this is not a game. there is no reset button, no fresh start. I can't recall ever asking to play. midnight. graveyards are always coldest when the moon is watching and tonight the ground is frozen. I don't know whose body lies here -  yours, or mine. maybe, I will forget sunburns and sweaty palms with a couple shots of gasoline and a match on my tongue, but funeral pyres are lonely and I am not a sacrifice. I will not set myself alight to keep you warm.
