9. My muse interrupts your wedding vows
Today was his big day. Today he was going to marry the woman that he loved so much. The woman that completed him in every way possible and she had to sit on the sidelines and watch. She had to watch him be happy with someone that wasn't him. How was that even fair? How did he get the happiness she wanted with him, with someone else? She had thought of ways to kill his future-wife-to-be but she knew he would hate her for longer than eternity if she even did, despite the fact she tried long before Damon got with Elena. Chocolate hues looked at the black lace dress with dark blue details that hugged her body in all the right ways. She was holding the small black jacket in her hands instead of wearing it. Her curly brown locks hung down and around her shoulders. Her eyes were slightly enhanced by a thin line of black eyeliner and she was smiling. It was fake and if one knew her well enough, they would be able to tell by looking into her eyes as she slipped the jacket on, taking a deep breath before exiting the bathroom and going to take her seat in the crowd of people waiting. It was an average set up, nothing too fancy and nothing too dull either. Her orbs rested on Damon as he stood at the alter, hands clasped in front of him, his icy blues shimmering brightly against the black tux as he glanced to her, offering her a gentle smile before the music started and in walked the bride to be. Elena in white was something that was offputting and a part of Anna wanted to get up and walk out right then and there but she was here for Damon and only Damon. She could do this. As the ceremony started, she couldn't sit still, fiddling with her dress, with her hair, moving her leg. It was impossible as thoughts attacked her. He should be marrying her, not Elena. He was suppose to be with her. Not the Gilbert doppelganger who cried wolf every three seconds. He was hers. "If anyone does not believe these two should forever be married, please speak now." There was a pause and without a second thought, well, without any rational thought, Anna stood. "I object." Her voice was clear and every eye in that room turned to look at her, mouths gaping open, Damon ready to jump in and save this but she let her feelings speak. "I can't let you do this. I can't let you marry her and before you say anything, hear me out. Though, you never did listen to me." She paused, moving from her seat to stand in the middle of the aisle, her eyes never leaving the eldest Salvatore. "We spent years together, Damon. Running from anything we wanted, laughing under the stars and falling in love under the sun. You promised me the world and I still hold you to that. I knew I lost you the day I died but I thought I could get you back. I still want you back. I know she makes you happy, I know she can give you the things I can't, but I love you, Damon Salvatore and nothing will ever change that." She sighed, not giving in to the urge to wipe the tears away that were trickling down her cheeks as she turned then, walking out of the room. If it was destined, he'd come after her.
