Garak was a little too caught up in the moment with Rusot and the stand off. I imagined I heard him saying “told you so” to Kira in between the lines of threatening Rusot.
The real man of the hour, though, was Damar. Not responding to any of the things Rusot said, barely reacting to what Garak said, eyes flickering between the weapon in his friend’s hands and the Bajoran on the ground. His hand was steady as he fired. His voice clean and even as he spoke. No grief spilled into his words, speaking of dead friends and dead worlds. Just simple truth, truth that bred hope into the minds of those remaining.
