Why Elijah was currently cooking when he had all of New Orleans at his fingertips by way of food, he wasn’t entirely certain. He had simply had a feeling that he should stay in and make a few steaks. Steaks, garlic mashed potatoes, and asparagus were taken out of the heat just as a knock sounded on the front door. Curious. They didn’t get many people knocking here.
Venturing to the door at vampire speed, he opened it up and stilled. Hayley Marshall. Interesting. He hadn’t seen the girl since Mystic Falls and a very nice table that they had defiled. “Well hello.” Elijah practically purred, eyes flickering over her. “You’ve come a long way, haven’t you?” A smirk came to his lips. What the hell was she doing here? He would ask later. “I’m having dinner.” Stepping out of the way, he gestured her in. “Come join me. In, in.” He added, a touch of impatience. “Walk straight, take a right, follow the scent of steak.”
