I get to ask more you say..yay...5, 11 and 22.
5:A song that needs to be played LOUD
so. many. the first singular song that came to mind is Stranglehold by Ted Nugent that song will put you into a fucking trance and the louder it is the better it feels. but, this question brought a memory to mind. At one point in high school I got into classic rock and I was at my dad’s on one of his weekends’. He’s got a pretty decent sized record collection. (We mostly only listened to his Beach Boys vinyls), but on that night I saw that he had Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon and I asked him about it (because I had just gotten into Pink Floyd and was trying to bond or whatever (said something to the likes of ‘YOU like Pink Floyd?!’ ‘cause dad, despite going to Bezerkely in the late 60s / early 70s and having long hair and beard back then, is a bit of a square.) and he got excited (it was a good weekend, he was in a good mood) and he ended up taking the record out and putting it on his turntable and playing the album. But, like, he basically played it at 11. The whole thing is still a trip to think about because, he’s the first guy to throw a hissy if there’s a barking dog or a light in the window or loud music... so that he played Dark Side in it’s entirety twice at full volume is just... it was a magical moment. And it’s definitely an album that should be played loud.
11:A song that you never get tired of
Gonna have to go with Angel by Massive Attack for this one.
22:A song that moves you forward
I’m gonna be suuuuuper cheeseball and go with Defying Gravity from Wicked. (Vid is my faves performing it so, deal.) I’ve got a lot of songs to pick me up and motivate / remind why I keep taking the hard path, so it generally depends on my mood. But, yeah, we should all aspire to defy gravity. ;)
Music-6, 13, and 30. Although I want you to answer them all! :)
6:A song that makes you want to dance
Sheeeeeesh, so so so many. lol But the first song to pop into my head was Bye Bye Bye and like, that song comes on and i instantly remember how to do the dance at the chorus. So. (I used to know the whole thing????)
13:One of your favorite 80’s songs
lol the headline for this quiz wasn’t playin’. uhm so i was like ‘okay, let’s narrow this down somehow. and so i was like ‘favourite madonna song from the 80s’ which somehow made it even more difficult, because, like, madonna was my goddess/role model growing up. Express Yourself came out in 89 so it’s right on the cusp, but I think it’s just gotta be the one I go with. ‘cause I remember just, like, identifying with the lyrics? I was very much a tomboy, and having to put up with stupid boys being stupid, and my mom and step dad were like ‘you’re going to have to compromise’ and i was just like ‘i will NOT compromise on certain things’ and so i had this song of Madonna’s being like ‘damn right, express yourself and respect yourself’ looking at the video right now, i feel like it explains a LOT about the things i’m into. *wink*
30:A song that reminds you of yourself
YEEESH ACK IDK *ponders* [ten hours later] I’m gonna go with the good ol’ Girlfriend by *NSYNC featuring Nelly. ... OH WAIT NO!!! NO ONONOONNO I’VE GOT IT!!! I Don’t Care - Fall Out Boy *wink*
1, 4 and 13 please
if you could invite anyone in the world for dinner who would that be? These days, Eliza T of course. ;) Though, it’s a difficult one. I think Hope would definitely be someone I’d like to have dinner with...and on that vein, maybe I should invite Freckles, because I know she likes boardgames. Angie and Gilly are other options. Josh is my husband, so he needs to be invited as well. *ponders* Fuck it, Ricky gets invited ‘cause he’s a delightful human and enjoys being one of the girls so... THIS IS HARD. Also, Amber, Kevin and HeMo. Some broadway folks as well...did I mention this is hard?
describe a perfect day? Probably low 70s (21s for you celsius loves.) I’m in a nice cabin in the mountains, we start the day with a fresh pot of coffee and a good breakfast. Then we go for a hike, a leisurely paced hike, that lasts half the day. By the time we’re almost back to the cabin it starts raining, pouring really. We run and slip and laugh our way back, take a nice warm bath to the sound of the rain falling down around us. A quick lunch occurs once that’s done. Then some more coffee/tea as we sit on the porch reading / playing on the computer / playing a game, whatever, just enjoying the peaceful surroundings. At some point I get up and start getting dinner prepared, opening a bottle of red wine as i go (of course). Dinner is magnificent. The rain lets off and we decide to go down to the dock and sit and take in the gorgeous sunset (thanks to the break in the clouds, of course) and do a little bit of stargazing, before noticing that the clouds were coming back in. Getting back to the cabin just in time. Falling asleep to the scent and sound of rain, and being warm and content. ;)
is there something you’ve been dreaming of doing for a long time? why haven’t you done it yet? going to Australia. money. lol I’ve always wanted to go to Australia. I think it stems from having a friend in first grade whose family had to move there? It put it on my radar, I’ve paid attention to it ever since.
You know I love these! 12, 51 and 62
12 Have you ever stayed up 48 hours?
Uhm, I think when I flew out to Vienna last year for my former Jugoslavia trip, that came close by the time everything was done. (I know I never slept at sleepovers, so by the time I’d get to bed the day after the sleepover... it’d be close but not a full 48)
51. Favourite food?
It’s tuesday, so I want to say tacos.
62. What makes you happy?
Seeing people smile. Laughter. Seeing people lift each other up.
