All You Need is Love
This was the gig I went to with my parents and their friends last night.
Damien Leith (Australian Idol 2006 winner) and Darren Coggan an Australian country singer, who’s been doing a Cat Stevens tribute concert for over ten years. Last night they got together to do Beatles songs, the songs of Lennon and McCartney and they barely scratched the surface of the catalogue. Many of the favourites were sung and they encouraged us to sing along with them which was so much fun.

I have just finished reading Damien Leith's "One More Time" for the third time and I am either extremely biased because I'm a fan, or else Damien is just a freaking fantastic writer. There's a certain honesty in his writing and in the characters he creates that makes them relatable. This novel is about a young man, Sean, who is trekking through Nepal but is also battling his OCD. His mind is constantly playing tricks on him and when they are confronted by terrorists, it sends him into overdrive. I myself have always battled with anxiety and that brings in certain OCD behaviours and when my mind has played some pretty nasty tricks on me, I have often wondered "Why me?" "Am I the only one who ever thinks like this?" Upon getting to know Sean's character and seeing all the things he goes through, I feel very comforted because he goes through very similar things to what I have. And even though the character is fictional, I think Sean is a fairly autobiographical representation of Damien, as he also suffers from OCD. It's just nice to know that you are not alone and when you think you're a total freak because your brain does strange things to you, it's ok because it's just the 'mechanics' of the anxiety as Damien very accurately puts it.
Suliet - Sawyer after Juliet’s dead. Mostly after he gets off the island. I could imagine it being set 4-5 years after he got home.
