I just finished watching Baby and I loveloveLOVE it so??? so??? much??? What a good episode y'all. After the literal Hell that was s10 I really needed this. It felt like such a classic brothers themed episode and it has such an old school charm??? Really reminded me of the early seasons honestly. Also, WINCEST GOLD. The whole episode had wincest stamped over it in big black bold and underlines and italics and exclamation marks. The whole nine. I LOVE how the episode was shot from Baby's perspective, and I honestly can't just choose only one moment as a favorite- too many of those tbh. How about... SAM CALLING DEAN "DEE" OMFG. I loved Sam and Dean talking about God and the Darkness. I loved how Dean was so soft and vulnerable with Sam in this and talked about his dreams about John. And Sam talking about HIS dreams about Mary. Sammy singing in his sleep??? THE JERK-BITCH MOMENT???? Sam asking Dean if he wanted something more, not a marriage, but something with maybe a hunter, SOMEONE WHO UNDERSTOOD THE LIFE (me @ Sam the whole time as he says this: SAM HONEY HE ALREADY HAS YOU DON'T YOU SEE??????)??? Sam talking to the lady at the cash register and smiling and laughing like the precious sunshine he is and when the lady in the car asks Dean if he would do anything for family, Dean glancing at Sam inside the Gas-n-Sip and saying "Absolutely" with all the conviction in the world like?????? He's so completely G O N E for Sam???? And then he's like "ah shit whoops can't let the lady know that I have incestuous feelings for my baby bro" so he's like "yEaH bUt nOt iF iT cOsTs tOo mUcH" (🎶Why the fuck you lyYYyyiiinnNNggGGG🎶). Also totally underrated but Dean SO wanted to spend time with Sam and just relax in the roundhouse. NIGHT MOVES WHO COULD FORGET THAT. And at the end when Dean gets out of the car and trudges over to Sam and helps him to the car. Dean being like "We'll get Cass to fix you up" and Sam being like "Only if he fixes you up too" and Dean being like "Okay mom" like YOU TWO ARE M A R R I E D. And Sam patting Baby's dash and saying "We ARE home" and smiling and Dean's tiredly fond expression at that??? MY HEART. I LOVE how the opening shot of the episode starts with the army man Sammy shoved in the ashtray and the legos Dean stuffed in the vents and their initials that they carved into Baby- into their HOME- as kids (MY SWAN SONG FEELS- //shot) and just EVERYTHING, man. EVERYTHING.
The fight scenes were amazing and the comedy was gold and people keeping on hijacking Baby made me want to kill someone but all that just goes to prove what an effective episode this was right? I loved this episode to BITS. It's my chicken soup for the soul now. My comfort episode (right up there with Red Meat). Bless Baby ❤❤❤
