Re your theory about the destruction of Luke's temple - there is a precedent for such a theme in Rian's record. Remember when in Looper the little boy lost control of his powers and accidentally killed people? The question is if Rian would reuse it (yes)

Yes, that’s a good point that I hadn’t thought of when I was writing my theory. If nothing else, Looper certainly shows that Rian has previously demonstrated an interest in a story where a child has god-like powers that they can’t properly control. If he does revisit that idea with The Last Jedi, I guess it would be kind of like him doing a character study of the Rainmaker as a grown man - he’s an unseen character in Looper, so I could see the appeal of exploring that kind of character in depth through Rey and Kylo.

Was it ever clarified why Thompson left? Did he leave that train wreck while he still could or did they kick him out?

I honestly have no idea, Lovely. I would imagine he just wasn’t available, but I really truly don’t know nor do I want to spread false rumours. I haven’t seen anything about it.
