To be honest... and encounter with someone using a flash rod would be kind of scary providing they knew how to use the thing...

In its unarmed state, the contraption is powerful enough to knock entire stars and planetary bodies across space like someone playing a three dimensional game of pool.

So... you can probably guess what it might do to someone in close range in tight quarters.

Mostly since they did effectively replace the original inhabitants of that universe.

"Get your hands off me you loggerheaded embecile!" the Master shouted at the guard that was shoving him into a prison cell. As usual he'd been caught in a place he shouldn't be, trying to steal something he shouldn't know about. Dusting off his jacket once inside he looks around to see he's not alone.
