My Vestige at the time: "Aww, that's kinda sweet, but I got this." That same Vestige wistfully looking back on this conversation after losing Darien in Coldharbour: "Liar..."

The less said about her reaction to remembering this following what happened in the Crystal Tower, the better.

Skordo, when you can predict Darien this accurately... how is he the one usually winning at cards?

A kiss goodbye for the man you lost while saving the world.

Hurts every damn time, but I still go back for more.

I wish we could have said something - anything - to him here that might have prevented what happened later, when he thought he had to redeem himself. Or at least let him know that he didn't have to be the one saving everyone, that being himself was always enough, that we needed him and losing him again would be the highest price ever paid to save the world. Maybe one day we'll have the chance to tell him those things.

Even the irrepressibly cheerful can lose their tempers... I think this is the first time Darien's spoken to the Vestige this impatiently, but he's been through a lot trying to reach us, he's only just healed after whatever happened to him in Mephala's realm, and it didn't sound as though the Psijics have made him feel very human, much less welcome.

But I have to wonder, has he eaten recently?

Because the last time he was seen with a loaf of bread in hand was on Stirk before we invaded Coldharbour, and that was quite a while ago.
