COLLEGE TEXTBOOK RANT

Okay, so my college has a super convenient textbook rental system where you pay $45 per course for your textbooks. Like it doesn’t fucking matter if one of your courses has 7 or 8 textbooks, you only pay the designated $45 to rent them. And wow, that’s awesome and I’m thankful but....

BUT, if you don’t have any textbooks for a course you still have to pay the $45 rental fee. Which I can get, it helps keep the whole system in the balance. 

BUT WHAT REALLY FUCKS ME UP THOUGH is that for three of my courses, I had to buy my textbooks. All three of them were for arts classes. For my theatre class, I originally had two of the textbooks that were available from our textbook rental. I emailed my professor who informed me that I didn’t need either of them for the class, just the one that was listed on the syllabus and I could buy it in the bookstore. 

I pity the arts students at my university.
