#repost @dan_rinylo Dan Rinylo (USA). I have long been a fan of the animal representation in Rinylo's comics. One hopes this winter will not be quite as lazy as the last.

Maple Key contributor Dan Rinylo ( drinylo ) is a 2013 graduate of the Center for Cartoon Studies in scenic White River Junction, VT. He's kindly agreed to submit three shorts for the first few issues of the magazine, each a standalone adventure for his scruffy ruffian (extra "ruff") Murray the Mangy Mutt!
Rinylo's style borrows much from early American comics like Outcault's "Yellow Kid," and Herriman's "Krazy Kat," but imbues the archaic style with a more modern attitude--and post-modern weirdness. Rinylo's attention to the formal possibilities of the page keeps readers guessing up until the very last panel.
If you like Rinylo's work, have a lookie-loo at his website or his tumblr. Keep it locked here for more creator profiles as the Kickstarter continues--or if you're already convinced, won't you back us?
Schulz Librarian Dan Rinylo picks Cole Closser's Little Tommy Lost for his graphic novel of the year! Here's what Dan has to say:
Nobody is doing anything like what Cole is doing with Little Tommy. The characters and world he's created are solid, beautiful, and rich. I can not wait to see what happens next! I only wish it appeared daily in the papers!
I was really happy to see Lena Chandhok's artwork on Slate today!
I spoke to simonmreinhardt and Dan Rinylo, the newly-installed dictators of the Schulz Library, about curatorship and keeping an unruly populace under their heel.
