Restorations Bring New Music to Rough Trade NYC on Saturday Night

For nearly a decade now, Philadelphia’s Restorations have been making gravelly-voiced anthemic post-rock music that’s just as good experienced live as it is coming through headphones. Jon Loudon (vocals and guitar), Dave Klyman (guitar and vocals), Ben Pierce (keys, guitar and vocals), Dan Zimmerman (bass and vocals) and Jeff Meyers (drums) put out their fifth studio album, LP5000 (stream it here), last month. Stereogum compares them to Japandroids, because of  “that same combination of grand, majestic heartland-rock melodic catharsis and scrappy, grimy, immediate basement-punk energy. The difference is that Restorations sound like grown-ups. On their new album, LP5000, Restorations play big and hard and catchy rock songs.” And with their fall tour winding down, Restorations (above, doing “A” for Paste Studios) come to Rough Trade NYC Saturday night.
