as the final cour in tybw is about to drop, some people need to realize
just because two characters are put together in a situation like a massive final battle does not make it romantic nor does that mean they should end up together
literally not a single part of tybw rukia and renji together fighting was romantic. not even a shared romantic look while they face imminent death. likewise, please if someone could point out ONE SINGLE MOMENT of ichigo and orihime that was romantic during that as well because i read the whole thing and saw nothing of the sorts and orihime was only fantasizing how she was going to "help" ichi in the fight (spoiler she's useless)
One of my various favorite things about ichiruki is how casual their relationship is, independant of the circumstances Ichigo and Rukia will always be in tune and they always know what to say to one another same if they spent months or years apart.
