Ghostbusters Talk About John Belushi
John Belushi is one of my all-time favorite PEOPLE. Despite the stigma around him due to his death, I still acknowledge John Belushi as the man he was before his tragic demise. It makes me glad to see his friends speak well on his behalf, especially considering he was a larger-than-life performer.
A lot of folks don’t know it, but John Belushi was originally written to play Dr. Peter Venkman for Ghostbusters (along with Dan Akyroyd and Eddie Murphy). Obviously after Belushi’s death, the role went to Bill Murray (as well as a ton of re-writes to the original script due to budget and practical reasons; the original script incorporated more gigantic monsters to fight throughout the entire film, in addition to each Ghostbuster being in a different field of study, i.e. military, science, construction, etc. - also some elements of time-travel). I always wonder what it would have been like to see Belushi in Ghostbusters. Totally Awesome seeing these dudes talk about Belushi (rest in peace).
