i don’t think i have necessarily ever disliked danashiri from empress ki. she is bratty, inhumane and a person filled with vengeance, but something about her is just so easy to sympathize with. toghon temur is a dick to all 3 of his empresses but with her it is just so painful to watch as he straight up has her imprisoned in a palace where everyone laughs at her because their marriage isn’t consummated, then because toghon slept with someone else, next because she hasn’t been impregnated yet and next because neither her or her son are favored as much as seungnyang is. for a girl who is the daughter of the most powerful person in town she is constantly humiliated and is seen as less of a woman than lady pak and seungnyang by not only toghon but also by everyone in the palace, which i am sure is the reason why she becomes a bloodthirsty animal seeking the lives of so many people. however she never had a chance to truly grow up from the age of 15 which is when she married toghon. she has gained no sense of mental maturity as she is told to conceive an heir and prevent anyone else from doing the same but no attention is paid to what she feels. a few tears are split and then she has to move on so as to keep her position as empress.
