It Gets Better - Dana Imagine
Hi! Can I have a Dana imagine? Maybe one where he has amnesia? Thanks! :) My name's Corinna by the way!
Here's the imagine! Sorry if this took forever. By the way, if you noticed the title, it says 'It Gets Better' and Todrick Hall wrote a song with that title. So if you want more feeling and emotion (I guess xD) you should listen to that song while reading this. Look at the end for some connections or messages (-:
-------------------------------------------
Here we go again. Another day filled with stress, tears and sometimes, regrets. Getting abandoned is one problem, but having someone you love forget you is another. It's worse for me. Dana will never remember me the way he used to. He'll never remember the first time we met, our first date, and even our first kiss.
His soft hands gently wraps around my back, making my heart beat uncontrollably. Dana's eyes lock into mine, which leaves me no choice but to look back. At this moment, I know what Dana wants to do. "Can I?" he ask. I didn't give him an answer but a kiss. I pull away leaving a small gap between us, our foreheads locked together. Dana leaves a smile on his face and tells me, "I love you."
I can still remember that day so vividly. It makes me cry sometimes. I wish things between us would be so much easier. If only I was the one driving, maybe things would be the way it normally was. Dana could've kissed me right now the way he always did. I can run off right now and not be the one to take care of him, but I cant do that. I cant. I still believe there's a chance for him to remember his life and to remember me. I'm killing myself just by staying with him.
"Who are you??" He asks me, waking up from his sleep.
"Dana it's Corrina." I remind him, "Are you hungry?"
"No. Where am I?" he responds, his eyes searching around the room and observing his surroundings.
"You're home Dana. This is you're home. We bought this house together.." I say as my voice trails off, "We are engaged."
"No, you're wrong," he denies, "Where is Miya?" His voice is worried.
Miya was his previous girlfriend, before me. Unfortunately, she is the only one he remembers, including his parents. My heart breaks into a million pieces when he says her name instead of mine. Dana looks to me, "Bring me to Miya."
"I can't do that Dana. You and Miya were done years ago." I grab his hand, "Look, we both have the same engagement ring."
He looks at the ring and realizes something. He looks up to me. "Corrina?"
"Dana," I respond, making me smile once again.
"I missed you."
My heart shatters, having me to break down crying in front of him. I should be happy that he remembers me, but I realize this would only last for a couple of minutes. Until then, he will forget me they way he did for the past 7 months.
"What's wrong Corrina?" he asks.
"Nothing," I say, wiping my tears off my face, "I'm just glad I'm with you."
"Me too. I'm sorry about crashing your car."
"You remember that?" I ask in curiosity.
"Yeah?"
"Oh. Okay." A moment of silence creeps in, having things really awkward between us.
Suddenly, Dana crashes his lips to mine. Igniting fire in me, making me want more of him. I missed him and the way our lips moved together.
8 Months Later
Dana's mom convinces me to go back to school and to not worry about him. She said that staying with him all day and night wont do me any good. Obviously she's right. I have to prepare for whatever comes next.
The day goes by pretty slow. But I was able to see some of my old friends that I haven't seen in months. They'd greet me and ask how Dana was doing. It's cool how they care, but I myself is trying to forget about him.
After school, Dana and I would go get a drink at our local smoothie place. But now that Dana is not with me for the first time, I guess I have to get one by myself. When I open the door, a girl with bright blue eyes and beach blonde hair recognizes me. "Corrina?" she says, "I havent seen you in a long time!"
I take a look at her a realize it was my best friend from highschool, Siara. I smile in disbelief since I havent talked to her in a while. Man, it's been forever since I was outside. "Siara! Homegirl, it's good to see you."
"Where's Dana?" she wonders. The smile from my face goes neutral.
"Well, Dana got into an accident a few months ago," Siara's eye's widens, "And he got amnesia from him head injury."
"I'm.. I'm so sorry." Siara apologizes.
"It's okay. That's why I havent been outside, since I was busy taking care of him."
"You still love him dont you?" she questions.
I look down, a tear dropping to the floor, and nod my head. There will never be a time where I forget Dana. Never. I dont care if I'm nothing to him. At least I was something at one point of his life. If I have to wait a thousand years, I will. No matter how much pain and suffering Dana gives me, I will never leave him.
"Sorry," Siara gives me a warm hug. "It gets better, I promise."
The two of us pull away and I gently wipe my tears, making sure that I didn't ruin my makeup. "So uhm, about that smoothie." I remind, having us giggle it off.
"Want your usual?" she asks.
"Yes please."
"Okay, your total is $3.65." I look to my wallet and remember how the total would always be $7.30. "Hold up, can you add one more?" I break in.
"Sure!"
On the way home, I was really excited to see Dana again. I turned up the radio and jammed to my favorite song, Heartless. Then there was a ring on my phone. It was Dana. Dana? How could this be Dana? Dana doesn't use his phone that often.
"Hello?"
"Corrina! It's Dana. Come home, there's really exciting news." Dana seems fine. Like he didn't have any amnesia. Weird.
"Okay, Dana hol-" a truck swerves towards me, making my car flip and fall down to a steep hill. My body makes all sorts of sudden movements, my head getting banged into my steering wheel and window. The car slowly flips and eventually calms down when it reaches a complete stop.
"CORRINA! CORRINA ARE YOU THERE? WHAT HAPPENED? WHAT WAS THE NOISE." My phone was only inches away. I try reaching for it but my arms were too weak. My eyes stutter as I am trying to stay awake. But I couldn't make it.
Three days later
I wake up to the sound of a heart monitor that ensures that I'm still in fact, alive. My vision is blurry as the room was too bright. I attempt to lift up my head, but fail because of the pain.
"Corrina?" Says a familiar voice. I couldn't open my eyes but I respond with a little groan.
"Corrina, can you hear me?" It was Dana. I didn't know how to respond since my body felt frozen and paralyzed. "I dont know if you're awake, but I hope you get this." He rest his warm hands on me, "Mom told me that I had amnesia for the past few months. She even told me that you stuck with me since then. She secretly took me to the doctors to get 'fixed' and I can remember things vividly now. I know I made you suffer, and I'm so sorry for that," Dana's voice gets brittle, as if he is about to cry.
"I'm so sorry." he says wobbly.
Dana leans towards me and gently pecks a warm kiss on my dry, cold lips. I can feel the heat running around, making me feel more alive. I open my eyes and look up to Dana.
His eyes widen in disbelieve that I have woken up. "Corrina?" his voice gets high pitched.
I give him a big smile. Raising my arms towards him, giving him a sign that I wanted a hug. My arms were still in pain, but I didn't care.
Dana's warm body connects with mine and everything feels normal. After a good minute, Dana pulls away from me and looks into my eyes, the way he did before.
"Corrina I'm so-"
"Shh. I heard it all."
For the next few months, I get better and recover from my horrifying accident. Dana took care of me the way I took care of him. Thankfully, I didn't get amnesia like he did. Dreams of Dana forgetting about things taunted me weekly. As I would scream and search for him late at night, I always find his arms wrap around me, telling me to calm down.
As time goes on, things get better. Just like how Siara promised.
--------------------------------------
Okay, so I hope you guys enjoy the story! Did you catch some of the connections in the story? If not, its fine. So Dana kissed Corrina and she 'woke' up. That part of the story kinda relates with Snow White and Sleeping Beauty in a way, if that made any sense. And the part where Corrina jammed to Heartless by who?? Let me see, uhmm IM5! Haha, so yeah. Basically Dana wasn't even in the band since he had amnesia.
HOPEFULLY YOU GUYS LIKED THAT! Sorry to those who didn't get a response. I'm trying to work with them. Plus some of them were asking for the same thing so it would be a waste to keep writing them.
I LOVE YOU GUYS! <3

can I get a Dana imagine about him teasing me about being a nerd cause I read a lot and don't talk to many people, then he takes it too far, so he has to REALLY try to make up, cause I stay angry for a long time if I'm mad enough? I'm pretty damn vicious when I'm angry. xD I have like soft, dark, wavy-ish hair and dark eyes, and I like laughing and making people laugh, so I'm pretty goofy.
I kinda switched things up a bit, I hope you don’t mind & enjoy reading!
—————————————————————
With nothing else to do for lunch, I head out to the library. I walk in, everything quiet and well put. I let out a sigh of relief that the football team isn’t here. Not that I hate them, but they’re so loud. They can be so loud to the point where I can’t even hear my own heart beat, beat. And my friend, Dana, happens to be on that team as well. You know, our relationship is pretty weird. There are some days where he is a little rebel or bully, and some days where he acts like a little angel. I tend to draw myself to both sides because no matter how bad the situation may be, he will always be good looking and attractive.
I walk over to the fantasy books and check out ‘The Hunger Games.’ I’ve read this book over 10 times and it never gets old, never. The relationship that Katniss and Peeta share in the book amazes me sometimes. Usually I’d think so much that I picture Dana and I like that. But we all know that’s never going to happen. The two of us are completely different. He’s a jock with hundreds of chicks drooling over him, and I’m a ‘nerd’ waiting to have guys drool over me.
As I settle down into my seat, I open up the book and start reading. ‘When I wake up, the other side of the bed is cold. My fingers stretch out, seeking Prim’s warmth but finding only the rough canvas cover of the mattress. She must have had bad dreams and climbed in wi-‘
“Ayeeee, what’s up everyone!” Aw man, the jocks are here. Which means Dana is here. I roll my eyes out of irritation and attempt to keep on reading. The librarian is corrupt and doesn’t really care if we are loud or not. Usually it’s a good things that they don’t care but in this case, it’s bad. A few students hush the group but of course, they don’t care. I look over at them and I see Dana, walking along with the captain. The two laugh as they walk in. Dana’s beautiful white smile fills the air and makes me want him.
Suddenly, I feel some contact with someone. Wait no, not just with someone. But them. The floor vibrates as they all head out to me with their loud tones reflecting off everywhere.
“Hey there, what ya doin’?” player 72 asks.
I continue reading and do my best to ignore them.
“Vaughns, isn’t this the girl you called cute?” player 12 asks him. I turn to look at Dana, surprised as much as he was. His cheeks get flushed and his eyes tend to move here and there, stuttering.
“Uhm..uhh. Noo. Look at her, she is not worthy of being called cute.” Dana teases. Everyone ‘ooh’s’ and starts laughing . My heart drops as he said she is not worthy of being called cute. Worthy. Cute. Why was Dana acting like this? Was he scared? I feel my heart breaking and tearing apart, to the point where I can’t even breathe. My face gets warm and my vision starts getting blurry. Then one by one, tears land on page 2 of my favorite book.
“Duude, you made her cry.” Someone pointed out. I can feel the sympathy he felt.
I rise to my feet and rush out, struggling to carry all my books. Dana catches up to me and apologizes repetitively, pulling me towards him.
“What the fuck do you want Dana?”
“I want you to forgive me.”
I start laughing. Laughing at how ridiculous he sounded when he said that. I couldn’t breathe. Hearing Dana say made me burst.
He stares at me, confused. “What?”
“That was the most stupid thing I ever heard. What makes you think I’m going to forgive you that easily? Dana you can’t always get what you want.”
“Please Lena?”
“No.” I said. As much as I wanted to forgive Dana, I knew that I can’t always give in. Dana does this whenever he’s with his friends and it ticks me off. This situation is weird to me because he’s never asked to be forgiven. I didn’t expect him to do that anyways.
2 Months Later
It’s been a while since I’ve talked to Dana. Once in a while he’d try to start a conversation or say sorry, but I end up brushing him off. I feel bad but it feels good to know that I’m in control of my emotions and decisions.
The bell rings which means it’s time to go inside. I walk into my first class and he’s the first person I see. Like the usual, he gives me a smile and a wave ‘hello.’ But being the person I am, I ignore and sit next to him. I hate this seat.Is what I normally say when I sit down.
“Hey.” He greets me. I didn’t dare to say hello back so I just took out my binder and started writing.
He lets out a little grunt and bursts out in a loud whisper, “Are you going to keep this going on forever? How long will it take for you to forgive me? The thing is Lena, you don’t understand how I’ve felt over the past 2 months. I feel lost, lonely and even confused about myself.”
“Shut up Dana, you have your freaking football friends.”
“They left me as well. After what I did, they thought it was extremely unnecessary to say the things I said to you.”
I stare down at my desk silently. So this is how Dana is feeling now? Did I really just leave him hanging over the past 2 months?
“I’m sorry Lena, I really am.” He apologizes.
My head rises up and turns towards him. “I’m sorry too.”
Dana lets out a big smile that warms my heart to the fullest. I always thought we’d never make up but here we are now.
“Just because we argue every now and then doesn’t mean I will stop loving you. Remember that.” I tell him.

Can I get a Dana imagine? :) I'm Lixa, I usually have my hair that's suuuper long braided to the side with dyed electric blue tips, brown, almost black eyes, 5'2, super shy to the point of sometimes ignoring people cause I can't even look in their direction (can I get the imagine based on this fact? c:) but once people REALLY get to know me (waddup song reference) I'm still awkward but I'm funny and hella talkative. Thank you!
Hope you enjoy it!
————————————————————
I open the door to the girls bathroom, walking in, glad that I’m the only one present in this room. I remove the pony tail from my side braid, letting go my loose dark hair. I gently brush it, feeling like Repunzel. I re-braide my hair, making sure it looks perfect. I stop to where my brown hair meets my blue ends and tie it off with the same pony tail. I look up to the mirror and see myself. I smile, glancing at the dimple that forms. A group of girls suddenly walk into the restroom and I immediately, pick up my books and go.
I’m not really as social as other people are. I tend to keep my thoughts, ideas and feelings to myself. But sometimes it’s hard doing that when you like someone.
I head out to my English class. I hate this class, but I love it all at the same time. I hate it because everyone is so, loud and obnoxious. But I love it because my crush sits next to me. As far as I know, his name is Dana Vaughns, 16, and co-captain of the football team. He sings too, to my surprise. Who knew a boy like him can be so cute yet so talented?
As I walk into the class, Dana turns to look at me. He smiles. Did he just smile at me? What do I do? I didn’t know what to think, what to do. Instead of smiling back, I look down, breaking our contact. I speed-walk to my seat, settling in. I could feel Dana’s presence as he is only sitting inches away from me.
“Please take out your homework!” Mr. Lan requested.
I open my bag, looking through my folders, hoping to find the homework that we were assigned to do. “Uh oh,” I mumbled. I go through my folders once again, and then again and then again. I couldn’t find it. I panic as I feel Dana’s eyes staring at me.
He opens up my textbook to the cover and takes out a paper. “Looking for this?” He hands that paper to me.
“Oh. Yeah. That’s it, thank you.” I smile, trying to avoid our eyes meeting. I hear him smirk.
Going on with class, Mr. Lan does his usual fair share of boring lectures. Then out of no where, Dana leans in and whispers to my ear, “You’re cute.”
I freeze. Did he just say ‘You’re cute’ to ME? Slowly, I turn my head facing him. There’s so many things I want to tell him, but I don’t have the guts to do so.
“Miss. Beckum, stop flirting with Mr. Vaughns.” Mr. Lan points out, putting the two of us on the spotlight. I can feel my cheeks turning red and the blood flowing.
Finally, class ends and all of us head out to lunch. I try to walk as fast as I can, trying to avoid any contact with anyone who was in that class. I was embarrassed that Mr. Lan had to put me on blast.
“Lixa wait!” A voice yells. It was Dana. “Hey.”
“Hi?”
“We should hang out sometime.” He suggests.
“Really?” I ask in shock, “I mean what?” correcting myself.
“Yeah. Why don’t we start in lunch?”
“Uhm. Don’t you have your cool friends to hang out with? And those pretty cheerleaders?”
“Your pretty. Don’t you belong with those cheerleaders then?”
“No not really.”
“Stop denying the obvious.” I blush again. Why is Dana suddenly talking to me? We never really talked. After believing that I’d never have a boyfriend, I think I have hope. Does Dana like me? Or is he just playing with me. He’s being really sweet. I don’t know. Why am I thinking so much? Too much even.
“Look Dana, I don’t really want to be part of your games. Please, just leave me alone.”
“Lixa, I’m not playing no games. I want to get to know you. I really do.”
“Okay.”
The two of us walk to lunch together and find our seats in the crowded lunch room. It was weird sitting next to someone and talking to another human. Usually I’d just sit alone and think to myself.
“Let’s play 20 questions.”
“Okay.” For the rest of lunch, the two of us laugh and talk and make our way into knowing eachothers personality. Sometimes, we would get off track and talk about something else. I was surprised myself that I can be very talkative and weird. Dana has a pretty cool history himself. With me, there’s not much. But Dana seemed fasinated as I told him one of my weird encounterments with a stray dog.
The lunch bell rings and I sigh at the fact that Dana and I’s fun conversation is ending. “We should do this again.” He says.
I nod my head. “Well, I’ll see you around.” I slowly turn around, heading the opposite direction Dana was heading. But then he caught up to me and gave me a nice warm hug, his arms wrapping together close to my waist.

Dana's secret...
