I drew an OC my friend made for my Dance Funk 3000 series! 😁 His name's Niles "Vicehead" Graves.
Put on your cool shades and prepare to shimmy down to this infectious ditty from Great Mountain Fire, a suave band from Brussels, Belgium. Look Up, which comes off their next EP, is a menagerie of cool, funky dance rock and soulful indie pop, much like a blend of Parcels, Jungle, Foals, and Portugal. the Man. The man in the music video for the song sure sports some sweet moves, too. Unsurprisingly, this smooth, groovy strutter is out on legendary boutique label Kitsuné. Look Up is Great Mountain Fire’s first new release in four years. Grab it, here. As new fans of Great Mountain Fire, we’ve been easily convinced we need to take a retrospective listen of their prior releases while we wait for more gems from their next project.
Yoooo! Fellow followers who love EDM! You must listen to this! This has an amazing Zedd vibes
Drew my jerky OC Aqua. I love him even though he's a jerk, but through the magic of character development, he'll get better.
I'm also deciding to not use PhotoShop anymore because it's way too time consuming and tedious to use. I use the Pen Tool to outline my drawings, but I'm going to stick to CSP. With how little time I have to draw now, thanks to my full-time job, I wanna pump out art faster, but still putting the time, love and effort I do with all of my art. From now on, I'll only use PhotoShop for graphic design work and effects.
Another batch of NPCs for my Dance Funk 3000 series. This sketchdump is messier than my last one because I wanted my sketches to feel "more loose". 😛
Dimitrios was based off an idea I had for a character so many years ago, but never put it into fruition since I had no use for them until now. I even had the idea to sell them off as an adopt, but I didn't do so since I liked the design and was rather fond of it. Specster was inspired by a character and the aesthetic in Cool Cool Toon. (https://youtu.be/kuiqoiP4GnM) Man, I sure do love me some obscure Japanese game that practically no one knows about except for like, 5 other people.
Hanako is the third and final member of the Yoka-Oni's (the other two members are in the first sketchdump (https://giantpurplecat.tumblr.com/post/180663745913/heres-a-couple-of-sketches-of-some-competitors). It took me a while to get a design for her while also trying to make it interesting and unique as well. I also based her off the futakuchi-onna yokai.
Iron Thumper is a new guy I just had an idea for in my series. I was also inspired by Klaymoor from Megaman Legends 2 and Bat from Dance Summit 2001. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pJqq7Tw8oc8 (Bat is the guy with the black hoodie with the skulls on it)
Even more NPCs for my Dance Funk 3000 series! I don't have the usual 4 this time around, but this is all I could come up with for now.
I got the idea for Aqua after watching gameplay of Bust-A-Groove with Heat and I thought to make a character that's the opposite. Aqua also isn't what he seems with his chill and relaxed look and is actually a bit of a jerk. He uses this to his advantage to bait and switch people he challenges to put them off guard with his highly skilled dancing techniques on the dance floor.
Rudy Gigi was heavily inspired by Jet Set Radio and also an idea my friend @refractiveillusion gave me on adding a dancer who dances on roller skates. I tried really hard to not color her like Beat and failed miserably, so I handed her off to @refractiveillusion to color. 😂 So all the credit for the color palette goes to her. Anywho, asides from being a JSR inspired character, I also gave her an interest in hockey and uses hockey gear to make modified skating gear with them.
Kristoph was inspired by male ice skaters and birds. I consider ice skating to be a form of dance, so I decided to make a male ice skater to put in the competition. He also uses special ice skates that let him skate, as if he's on an ice rink, on any surface.
She’s nice, I swear.
I drew my cybergoth OC Toxic Waste to as practice and also to redo the drawing I did of her a couple years ago to give her more personality and character. I also wanted to push my style a bit more.
