CD Spotlight: Dancemania SPEED 2

This is the 2nd issue of the Dancemania SPEED series, released in 1999. It's also the most recent of my Dancemania collection ^-^

The album features UK Hardcore DJs & projects such as: Sound Assassins, Brisk, Silk Cuts, Raver's Choice, etc. Including hardcore remixes from acts such as E-Rotic, Smile.dk, Captain Jack, Deja Vu feat. Tasmin, and more!

I'd say if you are looking for mainlime SPEED releases that contain UK Hardcore and Speed remixes ONLY, then I'd recommend this one and (SPEED 1 & 3).

The other albums are good, it's just they started to add other speedy music such as LED Records' eurobeat and S.A.I.F.A.M.'s speed tracks.

CD Spotlight: SPEED SFX

During the early 2000s, Dancemania SPEED started to release a BUNCH of spinoffs! Stuff like Classical SPEED, Christmas SPEED (which I own), SPEED TV, Speed 刑事 (detective), and more!

SPEED SFX focused on Happy Hardcore and other speedy covers of movie soundtracks.

Want to hear Ghostbusters or the Star Wars theme in the style of Happy Hardcore? Go ahead! ^-^

I'd say this is a pretty solid release and all tracks don't disappoint! My top fav track has to be Mission Impossible theme, they cooked with it!

Although this CD was "Copy Controlled", it didn't stop me from ripping the album. Too bad it plays weird on my discman :(

CD Spotlight: Dancemania Speed 5

Speed 5 is the first and only Dancemania Speed CD I own (for now). It was a CD that I had been searching for a long time until I found it off Amazon Japan. And for good price too!

This is the 5th volume of Dancemania's largest and most expansive sub-series "Dancemania Speed". Speed focuses on Happy Hardcore, UK Hardcore, and Speedy remixes of their own licensed songs!

Speed 5 featured hits such as Jenny Rom's "www.blonde girl (Momo Mix)" which was featured on DDRMAX 6th Mix and CJ Crew & Christian D's "Rhythm & Police (K.O.G. G3 Mix) which featured in DDR 5th Mix.

The cover and the obi have this very.....plasticy smooth texture to them?? (Idk how to explain it). It's not really paper-ish. The whole album has a red/pink colour scheme which I think fits cause in my mine the number 5 is always red.

Unfortunately unlike the other dancemania booklets, the tracks don't have their own individual pages with pictures and commentary for each. Only lyrics :( (at least the inner booklet has colour in it). They still have Dancemania album and other album promos, including future releases which are Dancemania Super Techno, Dancemania Bass 8, and Dancemania Platinum.

Last but not least, it comes with it's own voter's form for people to pick their own songs. (Imagine if I filled it out and sent it in...)

CD Spotlight: Dancemania SPEED 7

This is the 7th set of Dancemania Speed, the series known for Hardcore songs and remixes of various tracks.

By now, Dancemania Speed has started adding Eurobeat tracks to their albums. Youtube channel, puz, describes it as "Eurobeat on hard c0c41ne" and I can't agree more.

Imo, this is one of my fav Speed albums. I really fw the crack Eurobeat tracks. But the best ones go to........The 2 S&K tracks, THEY ARE UNDERRATED AF!!!!!!! (Also Naoki from DDR appears here 🤫)
