“Believe” by Cher is probably the most-played song on her iPod, she loves it unironically and with no shame at all and will sing it very noisily when she’s had too much to drink. Other songs on her iPod would include “Tomorrow Never Knows” by Mr. Children, “Automatic” by Hikaru Utada, and “Plastic Love” by Maria Takeuchi. Basically anything pre-1995 that’s over the top and emotional, she’ll love it. Bonus points for lots of synth.

the one place they sometimes end up falling asleep – where they’re not supposed to:

The living room sofa. She’ll curl up to read and she’ll just pass the heck out. Asato will have to come along and drape a blanket over her, or just full on pick her up and carry her to her bedroom.

I think she’s overall pretty shit at video games, but you bet your ass she’s competitive as hell when playing Wii sports. As for board games, she loves to play cards (and has an excellent poker face) and is pretty okay at Monopoly but only because Asato is so bad with money that she looks good in comparison.

Quietly irritable, easily frustrated, trying to find any excuse she can to lay down and fall asleep.

Herbal teas during cold evenings, coffee in the mornings.

how they like to comfort/care for themselves when they’re in a slump:

She has a good hard cry, cleans herself up, and gets her brother to snuggle her on the couch while they curl up with a blanket and watch bad movies. If he’s not available, she’ll lay in the dark and listen to music until the feeling passes.

what they wanted to be when they grew up:

The plan her family had was always for her to be a housewife. She never wanted that for herself, but also couldn’t see any way out of it. She mostly just wanted a life independent of them, but only managed to get it through tragedy.

their favorite kind of weather:

Warm, sunny, right after rain. She likes to work in the garden and so prefers weather that would be pleasant to work in.

thoughts on their singing voice (decent? terrible? soprano? alto?):

She cannot sing. It’s not super awful but it’s definitely not good. She doesn’t sing in front of anyone but her brother (bc he’s heard it a million times, she used to sing him to sleep when he was a small child) but she does sing in the shower and when she’s working with her hands (cooking or gardening). Ruka is an alto.

how/what they like to draw or doodle:

She’s actually not that bad an artist, if she just practiced and put the work in, but for now it’s all doodles in the corners of papers or on napkins, usually of plants and small animals. She can barely draw people and they’re often just kinda vague people-shapes with clothes.

The repeated question never gets fully finished, each time the passerby simply ignoring him. It had already been a long day with very little success. It was beginning to take a toll on Souta and his confidence.

He sighs, turning around with tray of treats (that smelled rather offensive to his own senses) in hand he barely manages to catch the tray before any contents fly off. At least Souta thinks he does before the triumph of catching the plastic tray wears off and he sees the mess that he has made of someone’s shirt. 

“I-I’m sss-sorry!! I didn’t-! I-I didn’t mean to!” He doesn’t know what to do so he stands there, awkwardly holding the tray with just a few samples remaning, his distress clearly showing on his face. “I’ll..u-um..Here! T-take all the other samples, that’s fair, r-right?”

“I know it’s haunted.” Brandon doesn’t do things by halves. It’s all in or all out. The EMF went nuts last time she came here and she’s trying to recreate it, though hadn’t anticipated having company. In truth, she’s a little worried Mayu will get in the way.

She doesn’t say that aloud because she’s not a total dick. Instead, sheflashes the younger girl a grin.

“It’s a poltergeist, I’m pretty sure. Which is great! If it’s a poltergeist, there’s a very slim chance of it leaving. Probably why it’s abandoned. Do you investigate professionally, or for fun? Do you carry equipment? Is this your first time?”

Brandon’s just excited to meet someone else with the same interests. It’s rare in today’s logic-driven world.

🍎 - If you had to chose a new faceclaim for your muse, who would you pick?

i’ve wondered about this before and i think p.iko u.tatane is a really good alt fc for him!! he has an aline haircut with the “hair tails” going on and it’s a similar color to haruka’s hair. there’s also a good amount of fan art that has him looking pretty calm and not smiling so that’s a bonus since haruka doesn’t emote a lot HE’S EVEN GOT A CUTE LITTLE CURLY HAIR ON HIS HEAD JUST IN A DIFFERENT PLACE THAN HARUKA LMAO

but the only problem is that i’m not comfortable using fan art for my icons. it’s also not okay to do that without permission and i think it’s near impossible to find the original sources behind most of the p.iko fan art that exists. i would have to go to a lot of trouble and i would be pretty limited in terms of how many icons i’m able to use.

anyway that’s just if i actually decided to use p.iko as an fc but hypothetically speaking yes he would probably be my first choice as a new fc for haruka 👌

🍉 - If you considered a time travel thread, when would your muse go?

i think haruka would go back into the past and tbh the biggest reason for that is bc i’m not comfortable aging up characters. it’s something i’ve always been so weird about but i really don’t like characters getting older. with both canon characters and my own characters i’ve never liked them getting older. i think it might stem from the fact that i’m absolutely terrified of the future irl and i indulge in fictional worlds to escape reality so whenever characters get older/grow apart from each other/etc i just feel Depressed™ lfiohshg

but the other reason i would have him go back in time is bc he’s always been incredibly hung up on the past. his main drive in the show was that he wanted to “surpass” his grandfather and his brother. not to mention that he’s been trying to clear his family’s name ever since their deaths. he’s just very, very focused on the past so it seems fitting to me that he would go back in time esp if it was to a point before his family died.

🍓 - What’s your sweetest rp experience so far? 

basically every interaction between haruka and @kessaichi‘s souta they’re my whole life 💖💝💗💕💞there isn’t only one since they’ve been through so much together and i treasure so many moments that have happened. but one of the sweetest experiences for me was when souta promised to marry haruka in the future. he got down on his knee and proposed with a ring and everything and they both fell to the floor and held each other and cried and it was just ;v; OOF OUR BOYS I LOVE THEM SO MUCH

🥝 - If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?

probably either ireland or canada! in general i really hate traveling but if i could pick anywhere to go it would probably be one of the two. maybe canada just for the sake of it not being too “jarring” like not having to adjust to as much of a significant time difference. also a flight to ireland is like 10+ hours and i would be a zombie by the time i get off the plane.
