“I like when you smile.”

Jongdae found the short phrase written on a post-it note in the kitchen when he woke up. He didn't have class until the afternoon so he had slept in while Jongin had left early for school, and even though it was nearly one, he still felt groggy. Half asleep, it took him a moment to register what the words said, blinking his eyes sleepily at the irritatingly bright square of paper. But eventually he was able to process the sentence, and he let out a squawk of embarrassment. His cheeks flushed as he ripped the post-it from the fridge and crumpled it into a little ball, tossing it somewhere on the floor. It always took him by surprise whenever his boyfriend was cheesy and he still didn't know how to react to little things like this. Groaning, he leaned into the cold surface of the fridge, trying to cool his flaming cheeks. 

(And later he smoothed out the post-it the best he could and tucked it into his wallet, right behind his driver's license.)

Jongdae blinked his eyes, staring at his boyfriend. "Jongin, I know I'm uncomfortable around dogs, but isn't that a little bit dramatic? I mean I doubt my neighbour's shih-tzu is going to try to attack me. Even if I have been glaring at it every time I see it in the hallway."
