Song: LOVE
ENJOY💗
Remus leaned over and turned the radio up, the intro of ‘Love’ by Nat King Cole playing softly through the speakers.
Sirius had decided that his whole house needed redecorating, the living room being the final room that needed a touch up. Sirius had decided to go for something different. A dark purple feature wall with dark brown furniture. Remus had insisted on dark green and gold but Sirius refused to have anything ‘Snakes’ related in the house. Including the colour. It was superstition apparently.
Remus placed his brush down into the tray, walking over to Sirius and placing his hands softly on Sirius’ hips, swaying them slowly in time with the music. It was soft enough that they could hear the birds chirping through the open windows. He started singing softly in Sirius’ ear.
L is for the way you look at me,
Sirius placed the paintbrush down in the tray, turning around to face his fiancé, arms resting lightly on Remus’ shoulders.
O is for the only one I see,
Sirius pressed his forehead against Remus’ nudging his nose slightly against his own. They starting swaying in time to the beat of the music, moving slowly around the vast expanse of the now empty room.
It was just them- alone in the world. Alone to feel the love shared between them. This was for them. No one could take their love away from them.
V is very, very, extraordinary,
Remus wrapped his arms around Sirius’ torso, nuzzling his face into Sirius’ neck. He could smell the scent of Sirius’ cologne mixed with the paint he somehow got in his hair. ‘You’re extraordinary’ he thought.
E is even more than anyone that you adore can love,
Sirius nuzzled his nose in Remus’ hair, kissing his head softly.
They carried on dancing around the room, slowly moving along with the song.
They both closed their eyes, absorbing the calm atmosphere they had created.
Remus could feel Sirius’ heartbeat against his chest, slow and soft. Remus loved feeling Sirius’ heartbeat against his own- allowing his own to beat in time with it. To beat as one.
Remus felt Sirius stop abruptly, body going stiff. He looked up at him- Sirius’ eyes wide. Remus knew exactly what had happened just from the expression on Sirius’ face.
“You did not,” he laughed.
Sirius closed his eyes and laughed as well, pulling his foot out of the discarded paint tray on the floor.
