MLB HC - Mari Fashion 1 - Rose Skort
A slim, straight, ¾ thigh-length, high-waisted pencil skort of Matte Milliskin Tricot Fabric with built-in, lycra, mid-thigh high tights. Over the pencil skirt are multiple layers of fluttery chiffon to form a short, triple-tiered, falda ruffle skirt made to emulate an unfurling rose. This skirt is made for dancing & when the wearer is spun it looks even more like a rose as it further unfurls into full-bloom.
The idea for this skirt was thought up when Marinette was talking with a nice lady (Imma call her Rosette, nickname Rosé, for now) about a commission. Then Rosé's husband looked at them & smiled fondly at his wife, got her attention by calling out his "Rosella" (Italian name meaning 'Beautiful Rose') & holding up an unfurling rose, upside-down so that, from his perspective, the bloom was over his wife’s legs like a skirt. (Like one of those perspective photos that tourists do.) This was one of those Couple Things. Ya know, those cute things that couples do? This one in particular was Their Thing.
Rosé just rolls her eyes at him with a broad smile. (Because she loves the goof.) Then a thought strikes her & Mari at the same time; they turn to each other & synchronistically say, “Yes!” with big, excited grins & the designing began. While the overall design itself may seem simple & done before, it’s the effect & way it moves that makes the skort so unique & original. Rosé asked for a red 1, because she has an affiliation for red roses, but Mari’s like, “I want to make one for myself!” Then the lady’s all, “Go for it!”
So, Mari made herself 1 resembling a pink rose with red tips. Both came out perfectly.
