Dancing Slow

Whether it was the sangria or the aroma of cinnamon, something went straight to Furia’s head. When the song changed, she refused to let the shake of Ang’s head discourage her.

A sharp yank, and the taller woman stumbled into Furia’s arms. It didn’t take a beat for the dance to begin. Starting slow, Furia slipped an arm around Ang’s waist, leaving almost no space between their bodies as she took small steps that would telegraph intention and intoxication.

When the redhead responded, following the shorter boss’ lead, the dance took on a rhythm all it’s own. Only rarely did Furia spin Ang away from her, but as soon as she stopped, Furia tugged at her hand desperate to feel her against her again. Having a dance partner satisfied a desperate demon in the back of her head, and Furia lost herself to the music, the motion of bodies, and truly despised the shortness of the song.

As the music fell away, her grip loosened, relinquishing the other woman, and escorted her back to the table they’d left behind; her face more somber than it had been in the moment.
