I wanted to show off my guppy tank! There are like, eight or nine real plants, a couple fake ones, the dragon, a heater, a bubbler, and a good filter. So far the residents are two Very Pregnant guppies and two nerite snails

You may need to be careful about the rate at which your fish breed. It's difficult for me to judge the size of your tank, but guppies can easily breed too dense a population to sustain in smaller tanks.

It's a cute tank though! I like your dragon guardian. Once your plants grow in, he'll have a little forest in there to watch over

I’d say give it till season 2, the first season is a lil rough. It really is kind of cringe funny interspersed with “oh fuck that got real” all the way through so if that’s not your thing you may just not like it.

Eye fact! Your eyes can basically made a 'trade off' between rods and cones-someone with really superior color vision likely has poor night vision, and vice versa. Personally, I don't see the distinction between shades of color very easily, but my low light vision is superb

Hey, I was wondering, and I totally get it if you don't wanna get into this, but what do you think of the trend of breeding scaleless corn snakes? I get the appeal for the owner, but I can't imagine it's good for the snake

It’s a fair question! I’m not a huge fan of scaleless snakes in general because of the skin problems they tend to have- it can be really difficult for them to shed properly. Another big issue with these guys is that with some scaleless snakes, like rat snakes, we see survival with the scaleless mutation in wild individuals. But the scaleless gene got introduced into corns by hybridizing with rat snakes, and that’s... look, keeping and breeding snakes isn’t “natural.” It’s all artificial selection done by humans for aesthetic purposes, and I don’t think there’s anything inherently wrong with that at all! But introducing deleterious mutations for the sake of making a snake that can’t function as well as it normally would doesn’t sit well with me.
