Dancing Zombies? (stories with Act)
So, on Tuesday night this week, I had my first night of Laser League for the year. Everyone was so nice as expected. We played 4 games, each game different to the last. We played Classic mode (normal laser tag but with special abilities depending on your rank), stealth mode (where your suit doesn’t glow, and you have lock on missiles which are worth double points), Highlander (I think it was a game mode where you only got a limited amount of shots) but none of those game modes mattered. It was the last game mode that made my night. Zombies vs Survivors. I’d played the game mode before, it was simple. The game started off with two zombies who had to infect the survivors' teams by zapping a survivor 20 times to turn them, the survivors had to survive and try to stock up on antidotes which you got at bases, but on that night, everything was thrown out the window pretty much. The game started off normally, two zombies were in the arena and we were all in our positions to start the game. As soon as it started I ran up to the green base which had a good sniping point... oh boi what I saw when I got up there was the funniest and most outlandish thing ever. In the middle of the whole arena there surrounded by zombies while dancing was a survivor and a well respected player (let’s call him GL). GL was just letting them tag him as he danced (with pretty good moves). I decided just to shake it off because he had told me before “don’t mind his dancing.”. (I was confused when he said it at first). So, I continued the game, being stealthy and avoiding the zombies while getting antidotes. Around halfway through the game, I decided to go back to the green base to check out what was happening with the zombies (as I was on the other side of the arena and hadn’t spotted many zombies) I rounded the corner to the green base and there dancing with five other zombies was GL. Immediately I ran away before they could notice me.... I wasn’t fast enough. They ran after me in a dancing conger line of zombies shooting me. I couldn’t even reactivate fast enough to shoot back. So, I just kept running. I eventually lost them when I hid in the blue base with a new kid whose code name was Midas. I told him to stay quiet and not say a word.... yeah, I shouldn’t have told him to be quiet so loud. The dancing zombies arrived again this time in two groups. I knew there was no point in staying there so I left Midas there with the first group of zombies as the other group ran after me into the red base. They were relentless, no matter how hard I tried to shake them, going from green to blue to red (while using my last antidote) I COULD NOT SHAKE THEM! So at last they turned me and I joined the dancing zombie squad. We all danced in the middle together. In the end I was the second last survivor. Midas wasn’t the one who survived last unfortunately. No, it was a smol bean who’s code name was batmanball... yes batman ball. He was small so he was able to run fast and hide easily. He would have won too if he hadn’t wanted to try kill us all. So yep that’s how my first session of laser league went. At the end of the game in the armoury one of the other year round players (that I will call CK) told me that whenever they’d play zombie vs survivors that always happened... yeah -_- . Well I’m looking forward to next week’s league session. I can already tell I’m going to fit in well with the rest of the league.
