Minecraft Build of the Week 4
Before we really get started here, I'm going to say that this week's Build of the Week post might be a bit abbreviated, as I'm rather busy tonight attempting to find a way to return the photograph and tax document that fell out of the sky into my yard today because of all the nearby tornadoes. ON THAT SUBJECT: IF ANYONE KNOWS ANY KIND OF WEBSITE FOR TORNADO LOST-AND-FOUND, PLEASE PLEASE TELL ME. I'M SURE THE FAMILY OF THIS WOMAN WOULD WANT THIS SWEET PHOTOGRAPH BACK.
Anyhow, this week's build is an enchanting mountain city by dancsa222! As soon as I saw the buildings on top of the mountain, I knew I had to feature this build. I'm not certain what style they're in (something Asian?), but I just love them - particularly the shorter of the two.
A closer shot of the buildings on top of the mountain. Usually buildings that are more or less all one material are boring to look at, but for these the plain materials just seem to enhance the unusual architecture. Just be sure to take the flint and steel off your hotbar!
Inside the mountain are a town square and shops! Somehow the ceiling seems a little oppressive, despite my own underground structures usually being the same height as this. Perhaps a few support pillars are in order? The shops look fantastic.
"If I had a sister, I'd sell her in a second!"
A quality menu. :D
Some homes on the outside of the mountain. I really like them. They protrude from the cliff face just the right amount to seem both homey/safe and a little exciting. The fact that the stone was dug out and replaced with wood even where not structurally required makes it look great! I've tried doing things like this before and it never really worked out - maybe because I've been cheap and just used the natural stone for walls. I'll try it this way next time!
Seeeecret waterfall cave! A little spartan, but it gets the job done! I really like how this seems to be the only place in the city with an enchanting table.
Then suddenly the most recent update has towers! Big towers!
Big fancy towers! Normally I'm not a huge fan of unsupported bridges, but the way these were built makes it look like the fences are ropes and the whole thing is suspended in the air. I don't know if that was the intention, but it looks fantastic!
And that's all for this Build of the Week! Thank you, dancsa222, for sharing this incredibly neat build! And thank you for reading!
